Ah spring! No wait! Summer Social! Aw phooey it's all anarchy up in here! Nothing like getting a message from a Nurse friend of ours who saw us on June 13th, who said that she has tested positive for C-19 but it's not the dry cough related kind. She said for us to get tested to make sure we are C-19 free. (She is more prone to Sinus infections etc. And that her cough is more mucus-y). Wife and I have no fever or symptoms unless you count allergies for sneezing. Breathing is good so far. I was tested back on May 18th for surgery and was negative. Our friend just wants to take the right precautions. So now the wife and I await our Dr. to Authorize getting a test, cause apparently we can't go to a quick testing center unless we are showing symptoms. Plus we don't want when the results come in, to get lost in shuffle. So here is hoping A) we test negative of course and B) we can get it done like today! Cheers everyone! I get tested later today, planning on visiting an elderly family on Friday so being extra careful. Glad you guys are being careful. This thing doesn't need to be a complete lockdown but people do need to know the risks and take precautions. Hope you guys are good to go and can enjoy some time with relatives.

Maybe you should get a job there & tell them how to run their business. Just a FYI, People are at home ordering items & not only is FedEx behind But so is UPS & Amazon. There's only so much lift at the Memphis, Indy & Oakland ramp's. FedEx & UPS has put a hold on people ordering from various shippers. Right now it is busier than Peak season( Christmas time). Be lucky you got your package when you did. I paid for two days shipping and it arrived at the FedEx terminal in San Jose early Friday morning which was the scheduled day of delivery. I finally got it yesterday afternoon. That's inexcusable. Besides I'm retired after 35 years in the transportation industry You want to talk to my logistics guys who for some reason have us shipping material to Florida for test, Gilroy for final prep, and back to Florida to be shipped because they are the only ones that can handle the orders being closed in our system. And the parts are going to generally SE Asia and occassionally to Cupertino.

CJ, or anyone else, have you read Anna Karenina by Tolstoy? I’m catching up on reading some classics and it came up on my list. No, War And Peace was enough Tolstoy for me. The survivors of the Soviet literature classes coined a term "Tolstoevsky" for a reason.
I will advocate again for "Heart of a Dog" by Bulgakov before anything else.
I got the War and Peace 4 episode series on my queue. I figure I'll give it the 14 hours on my tv (I like reading and run through books regularly, but I've just heard it's a bear).

Enjoy. The 1988 (or is it 1989?) movie adaptation is also outstanding.
I have never been a fan of Monte Cristo, btw. The first soap opera in a way. I like The Muskeeteers and the Huguenot wars series much more.
I liked The Musketeers also. I’m about halfway through The Count of Monte Cristo. Its not my favorite of the classic’s I’ve read, but I still think its worth reading and I’m happy I did. I try and get through one classic a month along with whatever history and science fiction I’m reading. I try to switch between novel and history. I can't do 2 books simultaneously. I actually just went through the first Aubrey/Maturin book (Master and Commander). It was really good. If you liked the film it's the same experience but with that much more depth. Really captures the jargon and general atmosphere from a ship of the line during the turn of the 19th century. Now I'm going to take a break before continuing with others, 20 books in a series, no thanks in one go. Reading a single volume attempt at the Crusades as the follow up.

Drives my wife crazy...she wants to see some movie and I have to find out if theres a book, and if so, read it first. Are you getting any if that dust from Africa up where you are? Our sky looks very different tonight...should be a cool sunset!

This was what I was waiting for. The next generation radar detector for my Jeep SRT that actually works V1 Gen2 is an entirely new security instrument that outperforms by a clear margin even the most highly-evolved version of V1. Inside the all-new magnesium case is an all-new, and patented, radar-seeking engine adapted from a concept used by military CHIRP radars to find fainter targets farther away with higher precision. Ka-band range is impressively better in V1 Gen2. K-band range is also improved. Our new SAW-D2L and LNA technologies enable this substantial range increase over traditional V1 while also providing a breakthrough in stealth. What’s Included Valentine One Gen2 Radar Detector Quick Start Guide Windshield Mount Visor Mount Power Cord, Coiled — 2 ft. stretches to 8ft Power Cord, Straight — 8ft Lighter Adapter Direct-Wire Adapter Wiring Harness Connector Spare Fuse Spare Suction Cups V1 Gen2 introduces K-Verifier technology to improve resistance to Blind Spot Detection systems in new cars and to reduce false alarms from automatic store-door openers. Built-in Bluetooth 5.0 enables a wireless connection to your Apple or Android smartphones and tablets. Here's an idea...return this, buy beer with that money, then drive the speed limit Typical cop response. 😆😆😆

Like, writing, acting, sound and effects. Was primarily a non-CGI movie as far as I'm aware. And while I think it covers the gist of one of the later books (Far Side of the World) it is a bit of a hodge podge to just capture the feeling. I noticed bits from book one in there. Highly recommended if you are into that period/naval stuff.

I finished “ The Count of Monte Cristo” and am into “ The heart of a dog”. I get that its satire about the Russian political system, but at times it has reminded me of “ Frankenstein” and “ Animal Farm.” Seems like it will be hard to truly appreciate it without a foundational understanding of Russian culture.

It predates Orwell. And it's a pretty accurate description of what happened in Russia in 1917-1925. But feel free to ask about any part of the book.
