Well it seems like spring was in quite a hurry to move along. Summer is upon us now. What could possibly go wrong?

Here we go again?
National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases Director Dr. Anthony Fauci on Tuesday warned that the U.S. needs to keep attention on a new strain of swine flu emerging from China that has the potential to become a pandemic — even as the U.S. is still recovering from an outbreak of coronavirus that began there. Fauci said that the virus has not yet been shown to be infecting humans, but is exhibiting “reassortment capabilities” and that when there is a new virus that leads to a pandemic, it’s either due to mutations and/or a reassortment or exchange of genes.
“And they’re seeing a virus in swine ... now that have characteristics of the 2009 H1N1, of the original 1918 [influenza] – which many of our flu viruses have remnants of that in it – as well as segments from other hosts like swine,” he explained.
“When they all mix up together and contain some of the elements that might make it susceptible to being transmitted to humans, you always have the possibility that you might have another swine flu-type outbreak as we had in 2009,” he said.
“It’s something that’s still in the stage of examination, it’s not so-called an immediate threat where you’re seeing infections, but it’s something we need to keep our eye on just the way we did in 2009 with the emergence of the swine flu,” he said, before adding that the virus is called G-4.

WTF come on China, I guess they are trying to destroy the world. It's bad enough they can't drive cars, Now they are screwing around in Labs.

Mrs. Danville and I are looking at a couple day getaway. Sea Ranch and Carmel are in the running. Any suggestions at a similar distance? Little River Inn (just North of Sea Ranch) is great and so is the little town of Mendocino near there. We we’re there about a year ago. The Timber Cove Lodge (a little South of Sea Ranch)...they have showers/hot tubs in the room that have glass walls so your looking over the ocean while relaxing. Its been a couple of years since we were there.

Spent 3 days at Bodega Bay Lodge the first week of March. Pretty nice joint! Thats where I would stay also. They also have a decent restaurant. The Inn at the Tides is getting pretty old. I stayed out there with some friends two/three years ago and one of my buddies had a room where his window was broken and couldn’t close. It was Nov/Dec and really cold. The hotel’s answer was to give him extra wood for his fireplace...yes, you can actually make a real wood fire (they even supply the wood) in your room there. The Tides restaurant is still a must see...at least a drink at the bar over the water. They're famous for a great, spicy, bloody mary
