The contingencies are falling like dead leaves. The movers are scheduled to load 07/30 The trailer will take off on 07/31 and so will we. We're going to drive two cars. Mrs. cjelli feels brave enough. The candidate routes are: Danville - Reno - SLC - Cheyenne - Omaha - Peoria - Columbus and Danville - Bakersfield - Flagstaff - ABQ - OKC - STL - Columbus Which one should be easier, and less likely to cause car sickness?.. I'd guess Grand Canyon is one grand skillet this time of the year, isn't it? Southern route may be warm. Flagstaff itself is a bit cooler than Phoenix (should be under 100) but I can't guarantee some of the areas around there won't be scorching. Cool to hear you are doing 2 cars. Can be long days but will probably help so you have more stuff travelling with you. It took us about 2 weeks for our stuff to arrive (delayed due to snow) so it's good to have some essentials for the first few days or weeks. I did the Albuquerque to OKC route. That day was probably about 9-10 hours with a couple pit stops. Given you are in two cars you may want to keep it to about that distance or less. We did a couple 11 hour days and as the only driver on the trip that was tiring.

Thanks, This will be her second kid, she had a little girl when she was a teenager, my son has been more of a father to her then her real dad. The DIL's dad spoils that kid to death but if knows whats good for him he won't get in the way of my wife spoiling this one. LOL

yo peeps!
So the Rose Parade is cancelled.
Who had that one your rona bingo card?
Meanwhile wife wants us to go somewhere for 7 year Anniversary in August and I am like, I don't think I am trusting any hotels or places right now! We had Tahoe, Vegas, Santa Barbara on the list and I was even thinking something local like Monarch State Beach or Hotel in Laguna Beach (which is like 10 miles from us). When I checked prices on the local stuff, I almost had a heart attack! Monarch was almost 300-500 a night. No thanks!
Also I've already been tested twice! So I'm good in test department!

Ouch. Head North up the Coast to Pismo or Avila beach. Maybe you can find a great spot up there to enjoy the weekend

Some friends of mine traded in their hotel stay for an RV rental. They really enjoyed it and felt it was much safer then hotels.

Good strategy to stay in places like Bakersfield, Tulsa along the way... Columbus will look like Paris after those stops.. I used to do business in Columbus back in the late 90's, Sold a call center software system to Nationwide Insurance there. Somewhere in the downtown waterfront area, Columbus has a replica of the Nina, Pinta or Santa Maria (forgot which one). I remember that because we once had a company cocktail party there, and one of our engineers got drunk and groped our beautiful VP of Sales at that event! He was fired that night and on a 6a flight back to Calif.. Man, the things you remember about the wacky hi-tech selling days...
