You make a good point. When I first visited SJ, a 120 Mbyte hard drive was about $800 everywhere else in the country. I could not believe my eyes when I came up to interview for a new job and saw an ad for a local store called NSA selling that size drive for $150 or so. Hell I took that job just so I could have access to NSA and Frys (I wasn't in the electronics business). A couple months ago I got a 2 Terabyte drive (i.e. 2 million Mbytes) for like $60. I actually ordered the wrong thing accidentally and didn't want that, but it was so cheap it wasn't worth my time sending it back. Danville and his friends have done us such an unbelievable service in lowering the price of disk drives by like 100,000-fold. Why can't the godam Sharks lower the price of beer at the tank? This is excellent board logic. I want a discount on beer! All in favor?

Nieto-Marleau-Sorensen could be a devastatingly fast line that might score ten goals in a season. The Cup is ours

Jumbo to Toronto? That would be gross Yeah at this stage in his career I don't see it. Plus they don't the space (as of now) to sign him to the league min. And they already have Spezza signed. Not to mention... and I understand the Leafs actually made the playoffs but are they actual legit contenders? (on paper yes but that isn't reality)

Jumbo to Toronto? That would be gross from Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet, - Hearing several core Maple Leafs have personally pitched Joe Thornton on going to Toronto. The courtship is on and the interest is real. But one thing I’ve always been told about the future Hall of Famer: do not underestimate his loyalty to San Jose.

Whoa
from David Schoen of the Las Vegas-Review Journal,
Golden Knights owner Bill Foley might have let out a major secret Wednesday.
During his guest appearance on local radio station KSHP’s “Vegas Hockey Hotline,” Foley was asked about next season and facing defenseman Nate Schmidt, who was traded from the Knights to the Vancouver Canucks on Monday.
Foley’s response raised several eyebrows north of the border, and probably in the NHL offices, too.
“Yeah, but they’re going to be playing in the Canadian division next year,” he said....
Foley suggested that because of the surge in coronavirus cases in Canada, the NHL is considering having the seven Canadian teams play in a division.
That would leave the 24 teams based in the U.S. to play in separate geographic divisions.
“I don’t think that border is going to be open before Jan. 1, if it’s open Jan. 1,” Foley said. “They’re starting to lock down again. Winnipeg’s locking down. Quebec has got spikes going on. I think they’re going to be playing a Canadian division. I don’t think they’re going to be crossing the border.” Foley’s comments created a huge stir in Canada, with fans and media dreaming about potential rivalries.
Deputy commissioner Bill Daly wrote in an email to the Review-Journal that the league is still in the preliminary stages of planning for next season and is not prepared to comment.

Good luck Jumbo, thanks for the memories! At least it wasn't Vegas! I remember the Night they announced trading for him, someone on the old board prior to the announcement said " there's a S in front of Scott Thornton's last name on is jersey" there wasn't, someone just being a smart ass, however 2 Hours later they announced the trade. I think that was one of the most exciting trades, that and when we got Selanne unfortunately we traded Friesen that Day!

Toronto is like catnip. But will he come back to San Jose next year?
I certainly didn't think we would be Thornton-less this season.
Next year will not be good, will it?

Whoever it was said "I just noticed Scott Thornton's name plate now has an S on it. I wonder if that means they traded for Joe Thornton." There was indeed on S on S Thronton's jersey and the guy was most certainly not being a smartass, but rather had made one of the most clever leap in logic deductions since Sherlock Holmes. Fun night on the old, old, old board.
