Classic Russian New Year dish: Herring under fur coat: layers of herring, potatoes, carrots, beets, smothered with mayonnaise, with boiled egg and green onions and dill on top.

Showed picture to wife, no offence, but she looked at it and says oh that looks disgusting. lol. Then when she looked what was in it, and said I couldn't have it anyways. allergic to the fish and eggs, and since mayo is made with eggs that leaves that out also. |

Then when she looked what was in it, and said I couldn't have it anyways. allergic to the fish and eggs, and since mayo is made with eggs that leaves that out also. Oh, no offense taken, this together with "Kholodets", a solidified pork or beef stock with minced meat, are two of the most repulsive-looking but best-tasting Russian dishes. This year we didn't make the kholodets, nor the beef tongue; had the Olivier salad, pickled mushrooms, beet, walnut and raisin salad, cabbage pie, red caviar on baguette slices and baked lobster tails.

Well this year is off to a fucked up start. An asshole my wife works with came to work despite being sick the two days after Christmas my wife worked with him. Found out Saturday he tested positive for Covid. Now we both are having symptoms and are quarantined. Will miss a week of work now and Dickhead Newsome decided to let the Covid program that would pay you while quarantined expire at the end of the year.

Wife did a rapid test on Sunday which was negative. My doctor said to wait until Thursday to get tested because he suspects hers is a false negative because it was too soon. |

She really had no issue as she is young and healthy and it was a minor case for her. |

On Monday or lovely DIL and our son gave us a beautiful 8lb 9oz grandson. Our first, and if I could post pictures on this thing I would show you guys how perfect he really is. LOL We will be heading up to Susanville on the 15th to see this bundle of joy. I think my wife already has her bags packed. LOL
