MARLEAU SET TO TIE MESSIER FOR SECOND ON NHL’S ALL-TIME GAMES LIST Sharks forward Patrick Marleau is set to skate in the 1,756th game of his NHL career and move into a tie with Mark Messier for second place on the League’s all-time list. * Marleau, who made his NHL debut on Oct. 1, 1997, had 7-3—10 in 13 career games against Messier (3-4—7). Four of their head-to-head matchups were during Marleau’s rookie season, when the Sharks and Canucks simultaneously competed in the Pacific Division – Vancouver realigned into the newly-formed Northwest Division the following year.

I am not entertained. This is literally the only highlight of the season. A single players accomplishment. The sharks inconsistent play is absolutely frustrating, just when you think they might start stringing some wins together they go ahead and play like absolute dog shit like last night. At this point I feel really bad for Jones and Dubby they can only get help from the team every 4-5 games it seems.

Hey Ferraro, if you don't want them to get away with it, do something about it. And doing something means not talking about it to the media after the game.
Boughner's only glad the league stepped up because none of his players did. Shameful. Put Gabriel and Viel in the lineup.

Just as an aside though, Simek could definitely protect himself better. Dirty hits aren't his fault but he does seem to get hit a lot in spite of his opponent's indiscretions. Part of that is admirable, but durability is an asset and protecting yourself is a skill. Just a quick thought.

He pays the price and guys need to stand up for him

At this point in the season I don't even care if they loose as long as they stand up for each other and hit EVERYTHING that moves. Atleast make the other team pay the price for winning.

Like they should have been doing in the Stanley Cup Finals a few years ago? Exactly. I think the Todd was first to pull that strategy in a game. I don't remember exactly who it was against (Colorado maybe?) who took like a 2 or 3 to nothing lead. Hit everything that moved and actually came back and won the game. I know winning like that is very unlikely but make them earn the win and don't roll over. Especially against the coyotes of all teams. (I know they are not a particularly young team) but fuck them kids lol.

Gabriel gets a penalty for that hit? I'm sure it wasn't for getting tied up after the hit

Gabriel runs two guys, Hayden drops the gloves. But instead of throwing punches Hayden just bear hugs Gabriel to death so he says whatever and let’s the linesmen break it up. Kind of embarrassing for Hayden.

I blame Hayden for that. Gabriel threw his hands up because he couldn’t do anything with Hayden’s death grip. If Hayden actually wanted to fight, he could’ve hit Gabriel when he did that. He didn’t really want to be fight, just wanted to look like he wanted to.

He can throw too, he knocked Foligno bad in a fight.
