Sharks pace of play is too slow for the current flow of NHL hockey. Not about having fast skaters.
Too much passing back to Burns and Karlsson and regrouping instead of attacking on the fly. It gives the opponent a chance to regroup too and they don’t have the skill to beat a team that’s ready to defend.
Not sure they’d fare better at run-and-gun as they’re currently configured, but it just feels wrong.
