Went to the gym after work last night wearing a Sharks pullover. The guy checking me at the gym is a heavy set black guy with rastafarian dreads and he sees the pullover and just says "Sorry man. I thought your Sharks were going to do it this year." The last guy in the world I thought I would be talking hockey with.

Thinking about dumping direct TV after 20 years. Ever since they were bought by AT&T it's been a shitshow. Any suggestions on what service I should checkout? Been looking at Xfinity but I don't know if that's a viable option. I'll also be dumping my home phone and internet service. Fuck AT&T

Already ordered internet-only from Comcast, $45/month. I'll buy MLB tv for cjelliko to stream, and when the hockey season start, I'll either upgrade, or just go through the hassle of private VPN and use it with NHL tv.

Marchment fan dumped Direct TV/ AT&T last night. I'm leaning towards to Xfinity like she did. 260 channels, 1000 Mbps internet and home phone for $159 a month/ 2 years contract. If I do that I'll be saving $140 a month

When I used to live in Irvine, I had Cox Communications and that was totally fine. No dish on new house, so if I can get a DVR box etc. and fast Internet Speed to stream the Fire TV and the um other apps I have on it, then we should be good to go! only shitty part is we have no idea when the close of escrow will exactly be since we have the buyers buying our current place and then us buying the other place. It's only 3 days in escrow and we are signing here. getting pdfs there. crazy! crazy!

I didn't have much problems with Comcast neither in San Jose nor here. I only cancelled them a year ago because they wouldn't budge on the price.

Fuck AT&T I had Xfinity TV and internet for three years before moving and we were very happy. Only had one problem and they came out with a more updated box that fixed the issue in one day. Only issue is that they wouldn’t negotiate the discounted price after the first year was up and its pretty expensive. If Xfinity was a choice in SC I would have stayed with them.

I found a two year Xfinity deal at $159 a Month that included home phone, 1000 Mbps internet and 260 channels on TV. That's a hell of a lot cheaper than the $290 a month I'm paying now for the same service. Plus my internet upload/download speeds aren't even close to what they offer.

We've had comcast/Xfinity for as long as i can remember. When we first moved to Galt almost 30 yrs ago they had cable but not internet. we had dial up with Softcom, I could get it started and go across the street to get mail and it would just be hooking up. We now have the triple play, we pay a lot but have been pretty happy with the internet speeds and the tv service. Wife won't give up the land line. Edit: just looked at bill we pay 230. for the triple play. I pay my moms bill in IL. and its 70. for just the cable.

We had the gig speed internet also. My boys laptops, which were hard wired to the router, would routinely get 800-850mbps download speeds. I forget the upload speeds but it was very good. We would get about 300-400mbps on our phones/Ipads when using the wifi. Can’t say as much about the TV as all I watch are sports, history/educational stuff and two comedy shows...but my wife, who watches all kinds of different TV/movies was very happy. Our bill was about $300.

So I think what I'm going to do is keep Direct TV while dropping Cinemax and Starz saving me $30 a month. I'll also drop the AT&T internet and home phone service. That will save me $150 a Month total between those three items. Then I'll sign up for Xfinity internet and phone for $50 a month.
My Daughter is coming into town next month and she said she has an extra Amazon fire Stick that she would give me. That way I can still get movies and other shows Direct TV doesn't have. No charge since I'll be using her account on the Fire Stick

You can't even process all of the reports. Why you guys moving? Upgrading or moving closer to work? We have DTV + Cox internet in the desert. The internet is very good. I expect their cable packages are comparable to Comcast. We have just had dishes on both houses so figured we'd go with DTV. My backup is actually to go with DTVs streaming service which I believe is like 35 a month and you can still DVR. When they start jerking us around I'm planning to switch.

In college they cut our package for failure to pay. We called to tell them we'd paid like 5 days prior. They literally said - ah, yeah I see your payment received last week. So, why'd you shut down our service? Uh. I don't know. We can have it back up in 3 hours. Fucking right.

The game (and I fucking hate it) is to just bitch and then see what other packages they have on discount in a given year. Normally you end up flip flopping services a bit but it stays relatively nominal in price.
