Everyone should check out that Chernobyl mini series on HBO. Really well done.
It gets even worse; I was surprised that the miniseries skipped over May 1, May Day:
While this radiation continued to drop over the Ukrainian countryside, the Soviets staged their annual extravagant May Day parade in Moscow. Mikhail Gorbachev, whose leadership guided the Kremlin response, smiled and waved to the crowd in Red Square. To the south, just 90 miles from where the fires of Chornobyl were still burning out of control, the Soviets staged another massive parade in Kyiv that included children dancing down Kyiv’s broad central avenue, Khreshchatyk. Perhaps the only noticeable difference from previous May Day celebrations in Kyiv was the fact that as the marchers and dancers reached the reviewing stands where Communist Party bosses traditionally watched the festivities, they found the stands empty. Some members of the “classless” Soviet society had been given enough information to know to evacuate the republic’s capital. There was also a May Day bicycle race. Exercise and deep breathing — all the better to inhale radiation.
But then the series would have to be about how disastrous Socialism is, and the producer wouldn't have any of it.
Mrs. cjelli is originally from Kiev, she remembers that May Day.

HOLLYWOOD, Fla. -- Authorities said two female acquaintances vanished with more than half a million dollars in jewelry from star NFL running back Le'Veon Bell's Florida home.
Hollywood police said Bell returned from the gym May 25 and found the women gone and his jewelry missing. The police report obtained by The Associated Press refers to the two women as Bell's girlfriends.
Bell said items in his closet were in disarray and all his jewelry was missing, including two gold chains with diamonds, a black panther pendant with black and white diamonds and a Rolex watch. The combined value of the items totals $520,000.

He can take Joe West(Who thinks the fans came to see him) with him He actually sued MLB claiming he wasn't give a promotion to crew chief because he is hispanic. That's right, the guy widely recognized as the worst umpire in MLB wants a promotion and it is racism that he hasn't gotten one. |

It occurred to me that Steve Kerr is an extremely mediocre coach that was given an all-Star starting lineup, didn't manage to win the reg. season and is worse than 16-4 at the moment. This cadre is not dissimilar to the USSR chess teams that had been sweeping the Olympiads and beat the RoW on two occasions as well. And yet here we are.

this whole sell to buy the house thing is still crazy!
we still have no end date of when we need to be out of ours and when we can move into the new place.
We are still packing up our current house, but cant schedule anything as of yet.
Anyway, we think the June 22nd through 25th time frame, hopefully!
