It's to bad the Sharks aren't based in Canada, they could have had their games postphoned when they had a covid breakout
The NHL has postponed the Ottawa Senators' next three games this season due to an ongoing COVID-19 outbreak amongst the team.
The games postponed include Tuesday in New Jersey against the Devils and home games Thursday against the Predators and Saturday against the Rangers. These are the first three games of the season to be postponed due to a COVID-19 outbreak.
"As an appropriate precaution, the team’s training facilities have been closed, effective immediately, and will remain closed for Players until further notice. The League is in the process of reviewing and revising the Senators’ regular season schedule," the NHL said in a statement. "The Senators organization has, and will continue to follow, all recommended guidelines aimed at protecting the health and safety of its Players, staff and community at large as set by the NHL, local, provincial and national agencies."
As of Sunday, the Senators had 10 players and one assistant coach in COVID protocols. The team has lost seven of its eight games so far in the month of November and is last in the Atlantic Division with a 4-10-1 record.

from Mike DeFabo of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette,
The Penguins are engaged in “advanced talks” to sell the team to Fenway Sports Group, a source told the Post-Gazette on Tuesday.
Ron Burkle, who purchased the team out of bankruptcy in 1999 along with Mario Lemieux, is expected to sell his controlling stake in the team to FSG.
Meanwhile, Lemieux is expected to remain part of the ownership group in some capacity, likely a minority ownership role. The Hall of Fame center will also continue to be involved on the hockey side.
The club’s senior management is also expected to remain intact. That includes the CEO/president David Morehouse and COO and general counsel Kevin Acklin.

I miss watching the Sharks regularly but the Canes, especially Aho, are fun to watch.

Alright. I like that call. Should be a suspension hands down. But do tell me NHL DPOS, why hasn't Marchand been suspended for 100 games considering that's how many slewfoots he's handed out exactly the same as Labanc? Oh well, not like Labanc will be missed.

TORONTO (November 23, 2021) – Lanny McDonald, Chair of the Board of the Hockey Hall of Fame, announced today new appointments to the Hockey Hall of Fame Selection Committee. The appointments were made at the Directors’ meeting held on November 15, 2021 and subsequently confirmed by the new appointees.
After 22 years of distinguished service, including 7 years as Chair, John Davidson will retire from the Selection Committee on December 31, 2021. Mike Gartner, a member of the Selection Committee since 2009, will assume the role as Chair and Cammi Granato will join the 18-member Committee, both effective January 1, 2022. Gartner’s Hall of Fame career spanned over 19 NHL seasons producing 708 goals, 627 assists and 1,335 points crowned by his induction in 2001. As one of the first two women inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 2010, Granato captained Team USA to the gold medal at the Winter Olympic Games in 1998 and retired as the all-time leading scorer in women’s international hockey. She is currently a scout for the Seattle Kraken.
“I am very pleased and honoured to welcome Cammi to the Selection Committee whose deliberations in recognition of excellence will be complemented by her knowledge and active role in the game of hockey”, said McDonald. “I also express our appreciation and gratitude for the outstanding contributions and leadership that JD has brought to the Selection Committee throughout his tenure, and I know with Mike’s experience in past selection proceedings there will be exceptional continuity going forward.”
The Selection Committee will meet on June 26 & 27, 2022 to consider duly nominated candidates for election into Honoured Membership. The announcement of the new inductees will be made on June 27, 2022 and the annual Induction Celebration will be held on Monday, November 14, 2022.

Couture, Burns, or anyone should just come right out and say it: "No. We do not want him back. We welcomed him with open arms, he played well for us, and we don't want him here. We have a better team this year without him than we had last year with him. You guys fill in the rest."

That would be a Kane move, show up to practice just a couple days before the suspension is to end, I'd bet he is no where near in game shape. Best thing he could do is sign in the KHL or some euro league.
