NEW YORK/TORONTO (Dec. 19, 2021) – Following several days of meetings with their respective medical experts amid increasing positive test results and rising numbers of postponed games, the National Hockey League (NHL) and National Hockey League Players’ Association (NHLPA) today jointly announced the following:
i) We will continue to play the 2021-22 regular-season schedule. Although there has been a recent increase in positive COVID test results among Players, coaches and hockey staff, there have been a low number of positive cases that have resulted in concerning symptoms or serious illness. Therefore, the NHLPA’s and NHL’s medical experts have determined that, with virtually all Players and Club hockey staff fully vaccinated, the need to temporarily shut down individual teams should continue to be made on a case-by-case basis. The effects of recently introduced enhanced prevention and detection measures will be evaluated daily. The NHL and NHLPA, along with their medical experts, will be monitoring not only the number and pattern of positive COVID results, but also the depth of Club line-ups so as to ensure both the health and safety of the Players and the integrity of League competition.
ii) Due to the concern about cross-border travel and, given the fluid nature of federal travel restrictions, effective on Monday, all games involving a Canadian-based team playing a U.S.-based team from Monday, Dec. 20 through the start of the Holiday break on Dec. 23, will be postponed and rescheduled. Those additional postponements include:
Monday, Dec. 20:
Montreal @ NY Islanders; Anaheim @ Edmonton
Tuesday, Dec. 21:
St. Louis @ Ottawa; Vancouver @ San Jose
Wednesday, Dec. 22:
Montreal @ NY Rangers; Winnipeg @ Dallas; Edmonton @ Los Angeles
Thursday, Dec. 23:
St. Louis @ Toronto; Carolina @ Ottawa; Montreal @ New Jersey; Anaheim @ Vancouver;
Edmonton @ San Jose
iii) Given the disruption to the NHL’s regular-season schedule caused by recent COVID-related events – 27 games had been postponed as of Saturday and at least 12 more will be postponed through Dec. 23 – and the continued uncertainty caused by the ongoing COVID pandemic, the NHL and NHLPA are actively discussing the matter of NHL Player participation in the 2022 Winter Olympics in Beijing, China, and expect to be in a position to announce a final determination in the coming days.
With the number one priority of maintaining the health and safety of our NHL community, and amid changing and unpredictable conditions, we are determined to remain flexible and adaptable both in terms of scheduling and in adjusting Protocols as necessary.

Maybe it's best the Sharks don't play any games for two weeks. They better come out against the Ducks like they had a two week Christmas vacation.

At this point and it's just my opinion (which always counts no matter how wrong I am) I think the NHL players are not going to China for the Olympics.
To many variables to conquer

Welp there it is, NHL shutting down early. Also Brent Burns has tested positive for Covid so he's out for who knows how long
NEW YORK/TORONTO (Dec. 20, 2021) – With no games currently scheduled for Wednesday, Dec. 22, because of COVID-related postponements, the National Hockey League and National Hockey League Players’ Association have agreed to postpone the five games that remain scheduled on Thursday, Dec. 23, in order to begin the collectively-bargained Holiday Break effective with the conclusion of games tomorrow night, Dec. 21.
Under the revised schedule, Dec. 22, Dec. 23, Dec. 24 and Dec. 25 (Christmas Day) shall be off days for all purposes -- including travel.
Players will report back to their Clubs on Dec. 26, which shall be used for testing, practice and/or travel only. Upon return from the Holiday Break to team facilities, no individual in the team’s Traveling Party shall enter the facility (other than for testing purposes) until they have a negative test result. Any practice scheduled for Dec. 26 must begin after 2:00 p.m. local time.
The League’s regular-season schedule will resume on Monday, Dec. 27.

I wouldn’t doubt if he has lots of stock in all the vaccine companies. Not that we need any more reason to be furious... But the other day a guy I work with pointed out the fact that the "vaccine" cards have had 5 or 6 empty slots on them from day 1 of it rolling out. And since there have not been other cards similar in situation to covid, then the only logical explanation is that the plan all along has been to make the most money possible, and after the "vaccine" which doesn't immunize, was to have a booster, and now another booster etc. This went from 2 weeks to flatten the curve, to a shot, to a booster and booster etc, rather instead of changing the narrative, it was always planned to add more shots upon shots.

This is very true, the booster shots will just continue to be the politicians way to control society. I'm flying to Texas tomorrow, it should be interesting to see how things are there. I know my grandkids are in school and they don't wear a mask unless they want to. And from what they've told me there's hardly any cases of covid or people dropping dead in the middle of the street like the media says. It should be interesting to get out of Commiefornia and see how the other half of America is doing

When we go up to see the kids up in Susanville, hardly anybody wears a mask and the kids in schools only wear a mask if they want to. Even some of the store employees don't wear masks. The wife has to wear one for work but after that we don't wear one.

The Wild took another hit when Joel Eriksson Ek left the game after getting tied up with the Stars' Jani Hakanpaa and crashing into the boards.
Eriksson Ek suffered an upper-body injury that coach Dean Evason said "doesn't look good," and the center was spotted after the game wearing a sling.
"He gets grabbed, and they talked to us that he got just pushed," Evason said. "It just doesn't make any sense. It's frustrating that a guy gets hurt on a play like that that obviously is an illegal play."
Is Hakanpaa the same guy that hurt Labanc?
