What is the bigger surprise: Sharks 2-0 Habs 0-4 I'd say the sharks. Because after the offfseason the Habs have had, kinda knew there was going to be a dip. Losing Weber/price to injury. Danault leaving.

from Pat Hickey of the Montreal Gazette,
The San Jose Sharks didn’t surprise the Canadiens with their fast start Tuesday night, but coach Dominique Ducharme said his team didn’t handle the situation well.
“We knew they play fast and have lots of puck support and they throw everything at the net,” Ducharme said after the visitors crushed the Canadiens 5-0. “We needed to box out, we needed to be good coming back killing plays and we got beat on those plays. It’s a lack of execution, a lack of engagement on certain plays that cost us and that was the case in the first period.”
The Sharks scored twice in the first 3:36 of the game and, given the lack of production from the Montreal offence, the game was effectively over.
Brendan Gallagher hit the nail on the head when he said there wasn’t just one thing that needs to be corrected. The Canadiens are 0-4 to start the season, they have scored only three goals, are 0-for-13 on the power play and have given up seven power-play goals.
“A lot of people are going to turn on us and it’s important in that locker room that we don’t,” Gallagher said. “We have to do the right things to find solutions. It’s never easy to get out of those things. It’s disappointing that it’s happening in the very beginning of the year, but this is when you’re challenged. You want to test yourself in tough situations and that’s where we are now.”
There were signs that the fans were turning on the Canadiens before the loss. The announced attendance was 16,095, more than 5,000 short of capacity.

The Sharks played the most brittle team and then the most distressed team in the league. What a change of fortunes for the Habs in such a short amount of time. They rode a hot goalie rather well. They're currently minus: * Price * Weber * Danault
* Kotkaniemi
So they're basically minus half of their defensive capability and one decent young talent.

I think some people actually work for a living I feel really bad for those people. Hahahahaha It was nice to be able to watch the whole game without having to go to bed to get up in the middle of the night to go to work. Hopefully they will continue to play decent. Its been one of the things that I have been looking forward to since retiring, so they better not shit the bed. lol East Coast road trips are the worst. I have to go into work tomorrow and I am still struggling with the darn app to listen. OOH, but I have YouTube TV. Hmm.

Alexei Yegorov... what a sad story. I looked it up, beaten to death? Do you know more? Only the Russian version of Wikipedia which is slightly more elaborate: soon after his return to Russia in 1999 he met with some friends who introduced him to ... heroin. Tried to cure himself, attempted a comeback in lower leagues in US, but failed. In 2002 he was trynig to get his documents seized from him by drug dealers, got beaten by them and jumped in despair out of the window. Left a wife and a son behind.
The article also says he was prematurely born, and that his father was bedridden, so a troubled mind.
Think of it, score a hat-trick in your only second game, skating with the two biggest legends of your youth, and find your death at the hands of drug dealers five years later.

It is sad, some people just can't handle the money and fame and fall fast and hard.
