Put the goal back on SJ’s tally and remove the goal from the power play and it’s a game in overtime. Refs literally gave it to Vegas there.

The board disappearing right before playoffs was a bit surprising! I ended up on reddit, but the effort ratios on there skew towards lazy karma farmers. Glad to see the community back, even if I’m only here a few months out of the year. 😁

Gallant seems like he's a pretty good coach. But he's always seemed as dumb as a pile of rocks

Was this supposed to be a playoff game? Could've fooled me.
Horrible turnovers leading to Vegas goals, Jones not helping matters on that 3rd goal. Penalties on both sides caused by mental errors, one of which led to us losing a goal for no reason.
Sharks really need to not have anything like that happen as we go to Vegas on Saturday.

Hmmmm...some friend of a friend of the referee that made the call will be collecting a bet in the Caesar's sports book soon.

Put the goal back on SJ’s tally and remove the goal from the power play and it’s a game in overtime. Refs literally gave it to Vegas there. That was absolutely a terrible call...but in the big picture, the three goals they gave up to start the game due to poor defense, turn overs and bad goalie play are a much bigger problem than bad calls.

from Paul Gackle of the Mercury News,
It’s a script that Sharks fans are all too familiar with. If they turned it into a full-length movie it would probably be called, “Five Minutes Late.”
For the eighth time in 16 franchise meetings with the Vegas Golden Knights, the Sharks surrendered the opening goal less than five minutes into the first period. By the 6:11 mark, Vegas held a 3-0 lead, making Game 2 of the opening-round series look like a sequel of last year’s Game 1 showdown between the Pacific Division rivals that saw the Sharks fall behind 4-0 in 11:43 en route to a 7-0 loss.
Despite the slow start, special teams ultimately decided Friday’s game. The Sharks went 1-for-8 on the power play, surrendering a pair of shorties. To make matters worse, the Knights also picked up a third period power play goal, which ended up being the game winner.
“It hard to win this time of year if you don’t win special teams,” Sharks coach Pete DeBoer said.

The sharks got screwed no doubt about it but they still played bad enough to lose the game anyway
Clean up the D and the goalie play or they are doomed. the problem is this has been the case for much of the season.

You can't account for the time after the sharks went up 4-3 but its definitely a different game. Refs blew the game with a terrible call. Luckily is only 1-1 and Jones bounces back after a pull. His angles were terrible last night, not sure what happened. Should be fuel to feed the group for game 3.

The screen shots of Jones angles are all week and good. About a few choice clips of AHL level turnovers to be fair to the entire team effort.

Getting angry at Referees when your sleepy goalie gives up 3 goals in the first 6 minutes - is like getting mad at the teacher for giving you an ‘F’ when you actually didn’t study for the test.
Debate the calls, but realize Sharks lost last night all on their own. IMO.

So this is the same Marty Biron that forgot to poke-check Hertl’s fancy crease stickwork a few seasons ago in the same building? No excuses for Jones, but appears like Biron finds goaltending much easier these days from the press box.

So we can pencil in Gallant as a shameless liar as well... Had the tables been turned and the exact same play happens at the other end and Vegas gets fucked on the call, Gallant strokes out and dies right there behind the bench. His head would literally explode. What a load of shit... That being said, the bullshit call was not the deciding factor in the game. There were two decisions made. Vegas decided to show up, kick ass, and take the game. The Sharks decided to do the exact opposite. They were totally schooled, yet again, in playing playoff hockey. Jones has zero confidence and the Sharks play close to zero defense for the most part. They knew, ahead of time, just how hard Vegas would come in game two. They offered almost zero resistance. The loss was a prime example of a team failure, from the coaching staff down. The stick boy probably found a way to fuck up last night... I think the game 3 winner takes the series...

Debate the calls, but realize Sharks lost last night all on their own. IMO. They made an amazing comeback. The 2nd period goal was their 4th goal in just about 3 minutes of play. That shitty call doused momentum, made the Sharks wonder where they could possibly play near the goal without getting called, gift wrapped a goal for the Knights, and was basically unforgivable. I don't believe it was a mistake or even incompetence. That ref bet on the game. There's just no other explanation that makes any sense at all. But to be fair, the Sharks amazing 4 goals should have made it 4 - 1, or something. 2 shorties...terrible. The Sharks goal tending is crap.

They got 8 PP’s and only converted once, which is half as many short handed goals they gave up. Jones angles and overall play have been bad all year...last night is his norm this season. He is by far the worst starting goalie in the playoffs.
