Just call it even. More than anything else, I'd like to see game 1 Sharks again. It'll never be called even. Because of the sheer lack of consistency, there will always be people that are pissed. Besides the seemingly factual bit about the league having favorites... Game 1 Sharks? While it is quite possible, I doubt it happens. They'll be down 3-1 coming home and won't be willing to miss out on golf next week. It's over in 5... |

Carolina opened up a can of whoop ass on the reigning champs!
I watch all of these Games and they all look like they're better than the Sharks. Is it that or is it Vegas is that good and makes us look bad?

Want to talk about a team shutting it down defensively. Carolina has held the Caps to 2 shots the last two periods. 1 shot in the 2nd and 1 shot in the 3rd. 5-0 The Caniac's are HAPPY!!
Shots are 43-12 in favor of Carolina.
The Fucking Sharks give up 12 shots in the first 5 minutes.
I Digress I will be rooting for the Sharks until I'm 6' under. It's not out of the realm of possibilities that the Sharks are the cause that I get put 6' under. lol

One point I want to make is that in this current era of NHL hockey where everyone passes up on hits, no one is a threat to anyone's safety after the whistle, and everyone is all buddies on the ice, guys like Ryan Reaves can actually intimidate because they don't play by those rules. You see it with Wilson too, to a lesser degree guys like Ferland and Anderson. They're all big, they can all skate, they can all play, and they all like playing a mean brand of hockey. These are guys who hit to hurt, hit all the time, and can back it up against anyone. They don't mind playing the villain and being a bully. It is pretty obvious those guys can have a major impact in the game because what they bring is so rare that other players just aren't prepared for it. People can make fun of Reaves' hockey ability or contract all they want, right now he's helping his team win and doing his part as well as anyone is. Wouldn't it be nice to have someone like that? You can get Lucic, I am sure the Oilers will gladly eat 50% of the salary and toss in a couple of picks as a bonus. |

They compete with Carolina for the top place in shot differentials, and Carolina is a Corsi-based team. |
