Complain about the defense but you need a save there. You just have to get a save there. First shot shouldn't have went in. It did. Team stormed back and was controlling the game for the whole period afterward. Then you have one breakdown and your goalie can't bail you out because it is apparently written into his contract that he has to let in momentum-shifting goals at every opportunity.
I'm done with Jones. If that guy is on this team next year...

I just got home from dinner and I'm not even going to bother turning on the TV. Fuck it. Fuck this team until it's turned over. I'm tired of this organization being ok with losing every fucking year in the playoffs. Nobody seems to give a shit. Well, except for the fans. The ones that are funding this perennial shitshow. When the fans care more than the participants, you've got major problems.

He had support and a tired line against. Donskoi skated right past his man and let him get a clean shot off. Clean shot or not, Jones has to make that save. That was the same as the 40' wrister to Andrew Ladd by Evgeni Nabokov gave up in 2010. That goal was a siren for everyone to see and hear that Jones is not a starting goalie anymore and playing against any team with him in net gives you the biggest advantage you can ask for. I hear the excuses like the team defense and him not getting enough support. This isn't a great defensive team by any stretch but every team suffers breakdowns and this team wasn't built to win games 2-1. They have the firepower and skill to win. Nearly every statistical category put this Sharks team into elite territory. The only reason they didn't run away with the division and conference was because of bottom of the barrel goaltending. Just call a spade a spade, Jones sucks, he's sucked all year, and he's sucking what chance this team had right out of the realm of possibility. |

Breakdowns will happen (preferably not as often as the sharks have been allowing them - but to be honest in this game the Sharks controlled play fairly well). You need a couple big stops to not kill momentum. I suspect the team went into the locker room and told Pete they was Dell or they aren't skating. |
