No disrespect to Megna and Meloche, they've filled in admirably, and I liked Middleton's game this season (we'll see how he does apart from Karlsson) but I want to see Merkley given a chance to thrive, not just survive. It's not the best situation for him to make his mark and he hasn't really impressed me so far but you can see the talent there and they need him to be a hit, not a miss, of a first round pick. The talent is there, just help him put it together. Maybe pair him with Vlasic on the third pair and give him the green light to play offense.
Also, Ferraro's gonna be the next captain of the Sharks unless something crazy happens by the time Couture's done.
