Definitely think most of us are siding with die.

Do or die tonight. Definitely think most of us are siding with die. I think I'll opt for having a few anesthetic-free root canals done tonight. Much more enjoyable way for me to spend my evening.

For this team to win 3 in a row right now, seems less likely than Tampa getting swept by cbus.

negative as always I will be! Wife doesn't like my outlook on this. She says they could totally come back and win 3 in a row. I said are you watching the same games I am watching?! There is no way they are winning 3 in a row! She said they've done it before (she is new to hockey somewhat), I said no they haven't. (also someone fact check me on this but I don't recall them coming back from being 3 down). Anyway I said Vegas was our worst match up and we are slow and old! Need to get younger and faster. With that said,

With that said, Sharks have never won a series after going down 3-1. They have 4 wins all time after going down 3-1. They went down 3-1 against Dallas and won 2 games before losing in OT. They went down 3-1 against Vancouver before the lucky bounce off the boards. They went down 3-1 against Pittsburgh and won game 5 before losing in 6.

They say the mind is the first thing to go and mine is on it's way. If it was game 6 then the Sharks only have 3 wins after going down 3-1

I sense tonight's game will be the Sharks last of this season. Not a given, but since we ALL know sharks look mostly broken and injured at this point, SJ 100% will *not* see the second round this spring.
I find myself mostly envious of McPhee's GK roster; he had a unique circumstance to build it and he did a solid job top to bottom. If I could waive a magic wand and swap entire rosters with Vegas, I absolutely would. about 28 other franchises should want to also. GKs are all young, fast, skilled and edgy. Also they all have an ability to be physical, push and shove back hard. Mcphee clearly looked for that intangible as well. NO Donskoi type scare-crows on that roster.
I'm betting, because of his long large contract, Martin Jones will be back at camp this fall. Expect Dell to be sent packing because he (also) failed at being the teams savior for Jones' worst season as a professional. MJs season wasn't a dip, Jones had a fall from the rim of the fucking Grand Canyon and influencers including DW now wonder if Jones can -ever- be put back together. Dell was given chance after chance, and even he couldn't get past .900. We should expect to see DW bringing in another NHL experienced goalie that can at least give Sharks a .910. Not an impossible bar. Jones will become a very expensive backup next season while undergoing psychotherapy. Johan Hedberg will be FIRED, obviously. What will happen in the sharks crease by next March is anybody's guess at this point. I don't see Jones recovering to become an 'elite' NHL goalie once again. DW is not going anywhere unless he retires.
Hard decisions to make this summer. I don't think re-signing Pavs is an automatic. Maybe maybe Vlasic and Donskoi for 2 young scrappy NHLers? Resigning Meier will be a good move. I don't see any 'untouchables'. I agree with everyone else in here - the Sharks need to re-tool to become younger, faster, scrappier (easier said than done). Within that effort, having JT around for one more season as 3C would be a positive, IMO.
Other than that, drink beer and keep enjoying the best time of year for watching hockey.

The Sharks went down 3-0 in that series to then win Games 4 and 5. They then lost in the 4th OT. Your memory is spot on.

Nabby had the save of his Career in the 3rd ot of game 6. If we would have won that game, there was no doubt in my mind we would have won game 7 back in San Jose. The Sharks scored in overtime in game 5. I still remember the announcer saying" The Sharks have a date in the Lone Star State" or something to that affect.

Vegas does have some cap issues heading into next season. They are currently sitting $2.8 million over the cap and have William Karlsson and Subban are RFAs to deal with. Engellend, Nosek, Carpenter, Pirri and Bellemare are all UFA's after this year. Karlsson is going to be getting somewhere around $6-7 million at least if not more. Some of their players on this roster simply won't be around next season. The crazy thing is they have 9 draft picks in the first 5 rounds of the next draft. The Sharks are a different story entirely. I think you bring Pavelski back as long as it is a 1-2 year deal at most. Jumbo if he agrees to play for a low amount. Donskoi is a free agent. Both Lebanc and Meier are RFA's with Meier having earned a significant raise. Heed is a UFA and Ryan is a RFA. The big question is do they try and resign Karlsson? I can't imagine Tan Man not trying to lock the guy up because letting him walk turns his trade for him into a disaster. It would be Brian Campbell 2.0 but worse because they gave up so much more for him. Vlasic has a NMC (3 team list he can submit where he would accept a trade). I wonder if they could work out a trade to send him back home to Montreal? I don't see how the Sharks can justify having as much as $26 million dollars of cap space for 3 D-men (assuming it would take $11 to get Karlsson to stay). The UFA goalie market is obviously headlined by Bobrovsky in Columbus who is going to get a huge payday. Another option might be Varlamov out of Colorado now that Gruebauer has taken over the starting job there.

What exactly has DW throw 13 millions at in the last two years? Pavs? No, thanks. Excellent season, but his decline is imminent, and he's been there with each and every collapse of the team in the postseason, including captaining the last three ones (and one without the collapse).
Goodrow is not worth mentioning. His salary and his impact are not particularly significant.
The Sharks have less that one draft worth of picks over the next two years, seven in total, no 1, 2 or 4 coming summer and no 1 in 2020, so I have no idea where the rebuild tools can be obtained. The Sharks have two roster players under 25 and none under 22 in the league that has begun to appreciate younger age, so the trade baits aren't particularly attractive as well, and the M-NTCs aren't making it any easier.
DW bet the farm and lost and must go.
