Couture is a turnover/mistake filled player. And too slow to make up for that mistake or too slow in general to make things happen on his line. I say sell him to Toronto during the offseason before they watch game film on him lmao |

He’s playing like a fringe bottom pair defenseman and being paid like a top pairing guy. For as much as we criticize Karlsson and Burns they’re still playing like regular NHL defensemen at worse, Vlasic isn’t even at that level anymore. Like someone else mentioned he looks completely disinterested. I would guess his body is breaking down (or broke down) which I understand but the Sharks just gotta move on. Middleton, Meloche, Merkley, Megna got more opportunities playing up in the lineup than Pickles. He’s done and he needs to go, bottom line. It’s cold but that’s business. |

Is his contract to much to simply buy it out? No such thing in my opinion. He’s playing like a fringe bottom pair defenseman and being paid like a top pairing guy. For as much as we criticize Karlsson and Burns they’re still playing like regular NHL defensemen at worse, Vlasic isn’t even at that level anymore. Like someone else mentioned he looks completely disinterested. I would guess his body is breaking down (or broke down) which I understand but the Sharks just gotta move on. Middleton, Meloche, Merkley, Megna got more opportunities playing up in the lineup than Pickles. He’s done and he needs to go, bottom line. It’s cold but that’s business. I know he had injuries that may still be plaguing him but honestly I think its his weight (no he is no where near over weight) but barely had average speed before, and he has been consistently 185lbs almost his entire career until last year maybe? He is up to 205 now and has slowed even more. I'd say waive him to the minors but I believe his no movement clause prevents that. Jones is on the books for 2.4 and 2.9 and then dips to 1.6 till the end. So if Vlassic is bought out, that would probably be near 6 mil of dead space on the cap. Maybe he just needs to sit in the press box until his interest returns. |

I also think they are going to sell Kaprisov or other components to get under the cap (may have been Guerin plan all along). Yeah they are going to need to move some unmovable pieces this summer otherwise a rebuild of any kind won't be able to start. |
