What a bunch of sad sack pussies. Couture is drilled and no one comes to his defense. Burns and his freaking long hard passes. Nice to see Couture laying into Karlson, but this team has no bite

Just another loss

Embrace the tank, sit all these declining vets, and let the kids play (and lose) to increase draft position. 

I can accept losing at this point (I actually want it) but don't lose lying down and not standing up for your teammates.  Merkley getting his head rammed into the glass should've garnered a response.  Where the leadership?  Why is a 6'5, 230lbs, defensemen so opposed to physical play or standing up for his teammates?  Has it ever occurred that laying a whooping on a guy might actually help?  That intimidation is a good thing?  Happy Merkley wasn't injured and came back after that but someone's gotta have his back there.

Reedy, Chmevelski, Leonard, Dahlen, Viel, Meloche, and Merkley should play every game from here on out and I'd probably bring up Weatherby, Raska, Hatakka, and whoever else too. And of those first four, they gotta show more than they have so far. Put some pucks in the night or go back to the AHL. Actually just do something of note, I don't like how you can play the highest level of hockey and be so unnoticeable.  Viel should play every night because he understands his role and does it and this team needs some of his energy and some push back.  He's undersized but he isn't afraid.  I can guarantee he would've been more helpful last night than any of the guys who could've been scratched for him.


Bonino, Nieto, Gregor, and Balcers as the depth forwards just don't cut it. Bonino is smart but he can't move well enough to contribute as anything more than a 4C. Nieto is what he always was, a fast but offensively inept forward, nothing more than a 4th line penalty killer on a good team. Gregor can wheel but nothing else, if hockey didn't have sticks or a puck he'd be really good. I'm trying to figure out what Balcers' game is and I think he is to. He's been a disappointment after showing well last year. All these guys have NHL ability but for where they are in their careers I think you want more out of them or give their spot to a prospect who has potential for more.


I don't know what they thought they were getting in Kahkonen but he looks real shaky on routine stuff.  Reimer has been better than expected but he isn't the answer going forward.
