This Sportsnet draftcast stinks. I am tolerating Dangle as best I can to watch this but it’s tough.

Sharks traded their first round pick #11 to Coyotes for three picks, #27, #34, and #45. I like that. They need bodies and one guy is not gonna make a big impact 100%. There are some enticing guys like Lambert, Kemell, and Lekkerimaki but the chances that they’ll make an impact in line with SJ’s timeline are slim. And… I got enough shandy to last me to pick #27.

They get more bodies but they only needed more because they didn’t pick the right ones before. Gonna regret imo, geekie or one of the next few picks is gonna be a dagger. Seems like a smart economical move, what I see is a scouting crew without enough talent to be decisive

Sheng- Scouts are telling me that Bystedt is a project pick -- loads of size and skating ability, but he might need a little more time to grow into his 6-foot-3 frame
"project pick' awesome

I dont think the Sharks did well at all. There are two questions in front of them. Based on what has happened in the draft are they in a better position to compete next season? Are they in a better position to compete down the road?
In both cases I say a firm no.
They should have taken a chance at 11 or even moved up or they should tear down was much as they can to rebuild.
They are stuck in the middle again....
If anyone disagrees with the compete next year I will gladly take a bet on them making the postseason.

I hope Grier can bring in his own people soon

I think it was Geeke that went 11th, the Sharks pass on Lambert(read my previous post below) and pick a project, even DW JR started going to the wrong microphone, dufuss. I hope Grier is able to bring in better talent evaluators. I like the small trade he made today, baby steps

Grier wasn't ready for the draft, so he "played it safe".
