Not a fan of the old school Flames look vs the contemporary Oilers uniforms.
Both should be the using the vintage threads.

Yeah he is definitely is and has been on his BEST behavior since going to EDM. He knows someone will offer him big money after the season, then he can return to his reckless lifestyle after the money is secured.

A regular failure of reading comprehension on Uncle Podger's side yet again. If I really decided he wasn't entitled to an opinion, I would've just knocked him off this forum for good. The "should" word escaped his attention, not surprisingly due to that subpar attention capacity. Maybe "Karen" is his household's term, but calling someone a middle-aged blonde woman as an insult at someone who highlights his mental deficiency after several lapses is not going to stop him being ridiculed, but exposes his deeper psychological problems instead. I don't know why Uncle Podger brings up college courses. He hasn't the slightest idea what college is; the most elaborate book he ever read is a free tabloid newspaper. Therefore, to quote yet another classic, "I am forced to rub you nose in the fact that your business is to keep quiet and listen, to learn and try to become a reasonably acceptable member of the community." Hahahaha. Again, my comprehension is just fine, maybe you need to brush up on word definitions before you use the word? Should = you believe in rest of the statement. Then you would ban me for making a simple spelling mistake and disagreeing with you? Example: Should 1. Used to indicate obligation, duty, or correctness, typically when criticizing someone's actions. "he should have been careful" 2. Used to indicate what is probable. "$348 million should be enough to buy him out" Therefore you believe I shouldn't be allowed an opinion because of misspelling of an uncommon name. Which is why I made a retort, because it is not up to you to decide if someone can or cannot have an opinion (especially on the internet). "Karen" is a household term across America whether you knew the term before hand or not, maybe we could put a poll up to see how many board members know the term? And the insult is not being middle aged or blonde, the insult is because "Karen" makes a huge deal out of something very, very insignificant (i.e. spelling of an uncommon name on an internet forum). You make many assumptions when we have never met in real life, so with your logic simply saying something makes it true... So I say: Your retort is silly because almost no one reads newspapers anymore and you don't even have a high school diploma. Go ahead and take a college course and you will see about "conciseness" (I think its bullshit, if you want to use $10 words you should NOT be marked down for it). Then you say "I have psychological problems" but you are the one trying to ridicule another for a simple and common mistake made everyday by members on here. So here is a couple proverbs for you. "People in glass houses shouldn't throw rocks" and "looking in the mirror". Quote: "I am forced to rub you your nose in the fact that your business is to keep quiet and listen, to learn and try to become a reasonably acceptable member of the community." Your entire opinion is invalid because you misspelled a word in the sentence. - Now do you see how absolutely fucking retarded that sounds? Especially on a random internet forum? Why have you not called anyone else on the forum out for misspelled words? It happens literally every day. Uncle Podger fails the reading comprehension yet again, for I already rubbed his nose in the fact that: But he decided to christen a new ship, and painted the name on its boards, and the name was spelled "Victori" on both sides of the vessel, and he's surprised that he is being mocked. Instead, Uncle Podger produced an Oedipal-style insult, and now he's being ridiculed about it as well. The examples he was able to dig out about the usage of the insult have little to do with the situation he landed himself into. Beyond that, he's mixing "typo" and "mistake", he's confusing "should" and "must", he can't even understand that it's not a random forum, it's a forum that I run and cherish. Uncle Podger swings around with proverbs, but the effect is not dissimilar to the hammer swings of the original Mr. Podger:" be precipitated against the wall with force nearly sufficient to flatten his nose." I have called out misspells many times, when they were repeated and referred to the very subject of the conversation and I will continue to do so. With regards to Uncle Podger, though, he shouldmust finally understand what he's being told here, or the previous "should" would turn to "must" as well, with the expected consequences.

I feel the same unfortunately! This is an entirely different Cats team right now, they are all playing so scared, its almost sooo bad that its feels on purpose in order to post a reverse sweep... Are we being punk'd right now? Where is Ashton? lmao It’s the curse of winning the Presidents trophy. Remember the Sharks won the Presidents trophy and lost to the 8th seed Anaheim who won the cup that year A curse? President's Trophy winner went on to win the cup 8 times out of 35, a 22% success rate. There were 27 winners out of 35x15=525 non-PT winners who competed in the playoffs, a 5.1% rate. So winning the PT makes you four times likely to win the Cup, hardly a curse.

from Sportsnet,
Calgary Flames forward Milan Lucic was assessed a five-minute major and ejected from Game 3 on Sunday night in Edmonton when he bowled over Oilers goalie Mike Smith in the third period.
After Lucic departed, Smith was temporarily removed from the game due to concussion protocol and went to the dressing room with trainers, prompting the Oilers to place Mikko Koskinen in goal. But Smith returned after four minutes of play had passed. The Oilers were leading 4-0 at the time.
"I don’t really know what happened," Smith said after the game. "I was out playing the puck and all of a sudden I'm getting buried into the boards … When you're getting run through the end wall and not expecting it, it's not an ideal situation."...
Flames head coach Darryl Sutter didn't agree with the call.
"They called it charging, correct?" he said after the game. "Could you imagine if (Lucic) did charge? What would happen there? He actually tried to slow down a bit, I think. It is what it is. It's the score and who it was."

Tampa Bay sweeping Florida without Point is incredibly impressive. They just shut them down completely. Defensive masterpiece and Vasi proving he's the most money goaltender in the league.

I thought the loss of Point, plus the grind of the Toronto series, would be too much to overcome... plus I wanted Florida to win. But Tampa Bay is just a machine that doesn't stop winning and they can play any way you want.

The Lightning have swept the Florida Panthers by defeating the Panthers 2-0 tonight.
Hard to believe Florida scored only 3 goals in the series.
This was the first sweep of Jon Coopers NHL coaching career.

Florida showing was pathetic, barkov MIA completely. Tampa gets full marks, especially Vas but panthers played to a fraction of what they’ve done all year.
And probably Jumbos last game tonight, end of an era. Wish he would have gone out when he still made some impact but was worth a shot I guess

With regards to Uncle Podger, though, he shouldmust finally understand what he's being told here, or the previous "should" would turn to "must" as well, with the expected consequences. Deflecting, got it. Again comprehension is perfectly fine. Nothing you have said has been so profound that it is not understandable by all. I was off by (1) letter, which is simply not egregious by any stretch of the imagination. I have not seen you correct any misspellings for the last two years at least or told anyone they were not entitled to their opinion because of it, and that stretches through the heated days of BLM, Floyd, covid, and Biden election. There is no new ship. The same thing I had said since the beginning that I took issue with was when you said I wasn't entitled to my opinion because of spelling mistakes on an uncommon name. You being a person who "seems" to share conservative (American conservative) values, can see why that would be a huge red flag with the first amendment guaranteed by the U.S. Constitution. "Oedipal"... In case you did not know, referencing Freud for anything psychological for a source is not credible anymore (let's face it, the man was just an extreme pervert). And the reference to "Karen" has nothing to do with anything sexual; again, it has everything to do with making a "mountain out of a molehill" for something insignificant. I am not "mixing" typo or mistake, and they can both be used to describe the same type of infraction of misspelling... Per the definition... typo nounINFORMAL a typographical error. mistake noun an action or judgment that is misguided or wrong. "coming here was a mistake" verb be wrong about. "because I was inexperienced I mistook the nature of our relationship" I am not confused on the use of "should" and "must" but perhaps you are... Per the definition... should verb 1. used to indicate obligation, duty, or correctness, typically when criticizing someone's actions. "he should have been careful" 2. used to indicate what is probable. "$348 million should be enough to buy him out" must verb 1. be obliged to; should (expressing necessity). "you must show your ID card" Similar: ought to should have to 2. expressing an opinion about something that is logically very likely. "there must be something wrong." "Should" does not turn into "must" because they have had the same meaning from the start of how you feel. You think I do not deserve an opinion because I made a simple spelling mistake. Forums are for relaxing, having an alcoholic beverage (or 2-30), and shooting the shit with like-minded people, not to be treated like a term paper that gets spell-checked, submitted to turnitin.com, and then red penned by a professor. You and I literally agree on more topics than an average person can count, yet this is the (1) you pick out to take objection over. If you feel that you need to ban me because I disagreed with you and argued my point and did not violate community standards... Then whatever.
