I took my parents to the airport today, with all the traffic I only came home around 5-6 minutes into the game. 5 minutes later Vegas scores. Then they score again. And again. I turned the TV off in disgust and went to work on my site. About 20-25 minutes later I check the score online, and it's 4-3. I turn the TV on, and it's 4-4.
It was helluva effort to force myself to watch overtime...

Jamie Baker is near tears. This is cinema. Go down 3-1 to a bitter rival. Hate. Blood. Teeth on the ice. Punches thrown. Chirping through the media. Claw back to tie the series on the back of a heroic effort from Jones, who everyone (himself included) had lost faith in. Game Seven and you play well but wind up down three goal in the third. Captain gets knocked out. Team rallies and a long-defunct powerplay catches life and becomes unstoppable to take the lead. Then heartbreak when they can't hold it. Go to OT and make one last push when off all guys, Barcley MF Goodrow ends it with a beauty. I'm not crying because I've been dead inside for years but I wish I could. |

Been watching them since the start, had some form of season tickets for over 20 years...never seen that crazy of a game, during such a critical game, for that whole time. |

Big statement There was once an epic article in Russian about the Soviet sports' success, with the style of letting the opponent far ahead and then catching up and turning the tables in tremendous heroics. Most famous case (for the Soviets, at least) is the Munich, 72, "3 seconds", close second is 9 match points saved by Andrey Chesnokov against Michael Stich of Germany in the Davis Cup semifinals.
But why the fuck do the Sharks need to put themselves into that position. Can't they learn from Columbus?
