yea Gallant is no shrinking violet. His boss, GM George McPhee once stormed into Chicago's dressing room post-game and punched Hawks coach (at the time) Lorne Molleken in the eye for taking runs at his Caps players in a 2001 exhibition game. So McPhee ain't ever going to keep some wimp like Jay Woodcroft behind his bench. Any pro coach worth his salt is going to ridiculously stick up for his guys and talk big shit about opponents. You know you'd want that too in a coach. McPhee is stinging big-time today but I think he hangs on to Gallant. Sticking up for your guys is all good. Complaining about a high stick that causes the loss of teeth is asshat material Everyone that is part of the Vegas organization, including the fans, is asshat material.

Not sticking up for Gallant at all, but I guess pointing out he’s one of those weirdo coaches who believes talking shit about opponents helps his team somehow. Just like how Eakin and Stasny thought roughing up Pavelski would help their team somehow. oops.

When he went off about the "phantom" high-stick that clearly and obviously knocked out Cooter's teeth, I lost respect for him. Not just as a coach, but as a human being. Fuck that prick!! I hope they fire his ass for this epic choke job! just looking at him reminds me of a broken dna strand... he's one of the main reasons the wife wouldn't let me watch this series live after game two.
Hey you made it

How are the kids doing. Been to Hawaii lately?
kids are fantastic, thanks for asking. unplanned change in jobs screwed our trip to see her this month, but next year we'll make a few trips. daughter won team's "most improved" and her results have been on the positive vertical climb all season. the team missed nationals by 1 pt at qualifiers in smell-a last weekend but according to coach it was the senior team's issue of not pulling their weight. she was nominated for the entire school's athlete of the year, got her face on the jumbotron and was treated like an mvp (though she didn't win it) at the awards party two weeks ago. frankly it's been an amazing experience for her so far from everyone's viewpoint. the boy is headed to join her in august and it looks like he will step into the team captain roll almost immediately. he's continually crushing it in his own events...has a chance to win the junior nationals at home (in rwc) this year, so no new jersey or michigan bs travel again and has also been invited to race against the adults in the area qualifier for the match racing national champs (which is a HUGE deal). kid is starting to go all big league on us! little one just finished her first season of juniors two years early at age 6. she's a freaking natural for sure and will be winning her own events in a few short years. she's also starting to compete with our outrigger paddling club and still doing her hula...so there's never a dull moment around our place

That's great. You've got a family that might be on a America's Cup team in a few years besides Larry Ellison is just up the road.

Reaves had a habit of ducking the true heavyweights back when they still existed. He has some skill to still remain in the game but stacking him up against the likes of the Colton Orrs, Derek Boogaards, Eric Godards, or Brian McGrattans is just silly. Reaves gets praised when he beats up on guys like Lukas Sedlak or Marcus Foligno. Guy didn't even beat Kane clearly. He's the toughest guy in the NHL right now but that's more about the NHL than about him. You'll put him tougher than Lucic, or you just forgot about Lucic? They’re probably on the same level but Lucic doesn’t have the same mean streak he used to have. Reaves is probably more polished as a fighter but I think Lucic is a bit tougher if that makes any sense. I think they have a healthy respect for each other and probably don’t feel the need to test it.

Two Days later and I Still can't believe what we witnessed I still have no voice, but got a good nights sleep. I've been fortunate enough to witness a lot of live sporting events Biggest games "mostly NFL and NHL" This game 7 is at the top of the list. The Shark Tank was subdued for most of the game. My pessimism got the better of me and I was certain we were going to get shut out.
I had taken a VGK fan with me, he was happy but reserved. He spent most of the game talking me off the ledge. Then the Pavelski thing happened "hope he's ok". I was happy to get the first goal and not get shutout , but never expected what came next. You could feel the Tank ready to explode every time the Sharks carried the puck across the blue line. When the Sharks got the second goal, I turned to my buddy and said "it's a game now" then we got the 3rd goal. I thought ok we came back, but no way we will ever get another. Then we did. Now it's 4-3 Sharks and we need to hang on. At this point the Tank is in hysteria, but Vegas scores to tie it. Ok it's over nice try Sharks.were going to fall short again.
Then Goodrow scores and that should catapult the Sharks to the SC.
We will see. But for one Week in April things feel different in Teal Town.

Then when the 5 min PP started, everyone in the lower bowl stood and remained standing the rest of the game including OT. Can't ever remember the entire arena standing up for that long. I remember a playoff game from the 90's, Owen Nolan v Patrick Roy, can't remember details but the Sharks had won it in dramatic fashion. Donskoi's goal in game 3 of the 2016 SC finals blew the Tank roof off, but this Tuesday game 7 likely tops them all over 26 SJ seasons. LA Kings had the 'Miracle on Manchester' game in the 1980's, this game 7 by the Sharks deserves some kind of name by local writers.

I know its early to talk about this...but I already can’t wait for next years regular season games against Vegas. The rivalry is firmly established...even the coaches are in on it and the dislike between the organizations seems very genuine.

The triumph/takeback/turnabout at the Tank. The shake-up/satisfaction at SAP. The answer/astonishment/amazement in April. The payback for Pavelski. <-personal pick. Simple and strong. It's not easy to do letter matching here because you're largely limited to "S" or "T", if you stick to the location or team name. Sharks, San Jose, SAP Center, Santa Clara St., Tank, even Tiburones.

I hope the Sharks come out ready to play Tomorrow Night. Not obsessing and watching Game 7 highlight's 50 times a day like I do!!!
It could be a letdown "trap" game, going to be hard to match the energy and intensity of game 7.
GO SHARKS!!!
