Lost again. 0-5 to start the season I can’t muster up enough will to even watch them. Seen about five minutes so far. Can’t recall the last time I was this indifferent. Agree…especially when theres plenty of good hockey to watch. I’m still a Sharks fan…but not watching much. Also, just FYI for y’all back home…Burns still excels at being out of position, pinching when he shouldn’t and turning the puck over 😬

You could see when Vegas took the lead in the third period that the team deflated completely.

You could see when Vegas took the lead in the third period that the team deflated completely. Because they know what they are (a bottom five team) and any lead late is insurmountable. This season comes down to how get the best odds to win the lottery, select Bedard, and start anew.

Hertl summarizes his feelings about this game with repeated usage of words “shitty” and “sucks”

This season comes down to how get the best odds to win the lottery, select Bedard, and start anew. To be fair, they were just returned from a long trip to the east coast and were playing the third period after midnight east coast time. I think their energy legitimately disappeared. Second period was encouraging though. Their coordinated puck movement did not have sufficient skill but at least they were trying the right things and it paid off. That Hertl to Nieto pass was a thing of beauty as was the finish. That was probably the 4th Sharks game I’ve seen in 3 years or so. I’m out of market, don’t get cable and no longer wish to pay the NHL for the streaming service. Number 94 looked really good, who is that? They gotta find some finishers for him. Vlasic looked very good, maybe a turnaround. Meier was doing the right things but not finishing. Couture was invisible until he missed his assignment on the 4th Vegas goal. Karlsson looked really, really bad. Sharks will definitely end with favorable lottery odds but you know they’re not going to score the #1 right? It’s the Sharks.

LeBrun on Insider Trading says in talking to other teams around the league the #SJSharks have let it be known they are willing to listen on pretty much every player on their roster other than perhaps Tomas Hertl.

Is Bedard that much of a game changer? Is he a piece 73 goals and 150 points in 90 games and that was playing as a 15 and 16 year old the previous two years. Put it this way; if Bedard had been in this past draft I’m sure he would’ve gone #1 without question.

What a mess it is in Arizona. Is this Marc Edouard Vlasic’s Brother? Such an embarrassment. They should make them to play in any junior hockey town in USA/Canada and if the attendance numbers exceed what would be straight sellouts all year long at their tiny college barn, than they should be forced to relocate.

The San Jose Sharks is the 26th-most valuable franchise in the NHL, dropping two spots from last year.
According to Sportico, the Sharks are worth $755 million dollars. The club’s value increased 7 percent from last year. Despite that growth, the team’s value is still well under the $1.01-billion NHL average.
The Toronto Maple Leafs headline Sportico’s list, valued at $2.12 billion. The top-five franchises are all from the Original 6, including the Leafs, New York Rangers, Montreal Canadiens, Chicago Blackhawks, and Boston Bruins. Luckily for the NHL, the bottom-four franchises — the Arizona Coyotes, Florida Panthers, Carolina Hurricanes, and Columbus Blue Jackets — all saw at least 13 percent growth in value from last year.
Per Sportico, the Sharks generated $145 million in revenue last season, considerably better than the $59 million they earned in 2020-21, which was heavily impacted by capacity restrictions and the shortened season.
As sports franchises are assets with very limited supply, Sportico believes their continued growth is almost certain for owners. San Jose Sharks’ principal owner Hasso Plattner is likely very happy with the growth seen throughout the NHL and in his team.
