from Curtis Pashelka of the Mercury News,
Martin Jones was, of course, exceptional in Game 6 against the Golden Knights last Sunday, stopping 58 of 59 shots before Tomas Hertl scored shorthanded in double overtime to give the Sharks a 2-1 win.
But as long as the Sharks get the same kind of Jones that led them to wins in games 1, 5, and 7 of that series against the Avalanche, they can go a long way. Jones, who came into Friday with a .904 save percentage, stopped 26 of 28 shots, including 10 of 11 in the second period, to give the Sharks their fourth straight win.
“He’s such a big part of this team,” Thornton said, “we’re going to go as far as he wants to take us.”
Jones may have done his best work in the first period Friday, as he stoned Carl Soderberg twice — once from just outside of the crease with under six minutes to go and another on a breakaway with just over two minutes left.

Sharks don't usually play well in early start games, Like Hahn & Baker would say they need to get their legs going. Let's hope they come out strong

Pavelski (head) is not expected to suit up in Sunday's Game 2 against the visiting Avalanche, David Satriano of NHL.com reports.
Pavelski appears to still be feeling the effects of the scary injury he sustained in Game 7 against Vegas, and will continue to sit out. The Sharks' captain reportedly hasn't skated since the injury, so he was considered a long shot for Game 2. The 34-year-old's status is still considered day-to-day, and his next chance to play is in Game 3 on Tuesday.

But oh no, let's have the league apologize to the Knights, because that hit was "no big deal" and should never have been a major penalty. And the Knights were merely protesting the "bad" call by letting in 4 goals. And the Knights must have been the better team because it took the legendary talent of Barclay Goodrow to score in overtime. And unicorns are real. Because the league and its officials ignored all of Vegas's interference, holding and shenanigans for two straight seasons methinks that the Knights felt a sense of entitlement, and a seriously injured Pavelski is the result. Anyway... moving on. Go Sharks!

Donskoi would be a great help in this series, more wide open no hitting. I hope he gets healthy.

He could be very effective in this series but I think Vegas gave him a concussion.
