I would like to see PB’s thought process on playing Haley. I’m not putting the entire loss on him of course. Just saying, Sharks need all 4 lines clicking with speed. 3rd line stepped up in game 1, Burns tried to win game 2 by himself,
What I’m afraid of is Calgary probably also thought the Avs were a one line team and then got their ass handed to them.

EK65 looks like he's getting a little better, skating wise.

Dont expect Pavs back anytime soon. When Jumbo helped Pavs off the ice in game 7, I said it's very possible that will be the last time we see Pavs in Teal. It looked bad.

Laceration to the head, not a huge deal as they stapled it at the tank. He could hear the goal horn go off as this was being done. Concussion though is a big deal and also surgery on a finger could not go under because of concussion. He was a total bruised mess all over.

Yeah, the concussion is the issue. On a hit like that, the concern should not be if he makes it back this series, it should be if he makes it back period. Surgery on a finger shouldn't require general anesthesia...🤔

So I wonder if during this glorious regular season finish stretch of 3-8-1, maybe more Barracuda should have played, thus giving PDB some more options than Gambrell, Haley and Radil. Such as Alex True or Jon Dahlen, or maybe Antti Suomela can finish the season on the same high note he started it? I’d rather have Suomela than Haley against the Av’s.I was wondering about him too playing in this series, since injuries are mounting.
Suomela's stock has dropped like a rock in this Org. Good skater that made opening night roster, decent puck handler. I thought he was ok/decent and could eventually adjust to NHL ice. But went through some scoring droughts, DW assigned him to Barracuda December 8th and they've buried him there. Seems like DeBoer can't see an NHL fit for him. Harsh after only 27 NHL games.
Suomela only did a one year entry level contract, easy guess he's heading back to Finland in summer to enjoy bigger Euro ice surfaces again. but Suomela was easily a better hockey player than Gambrell, IMO.

That was a very bad call but it is also on the Sharks for not playing until the whistle.

Those 38 goals are going to be hard to ignore, but I agree with you that him re-signing is not a done deal at this point.

Is Doug Wilson still the GM? A new contract for Pavelski is a guarantee. I also don’t see anything smart for a contract. Last time they had this crossroads of a long time shark, team captain, just scored 38 goals, Doug offered him $20m over three years with all sorts of NMC. Admittedly, that guy was 35, not 34. And there were a lot more warning signs before that contract. TRO

TRO If it's Marleau your talking about, I believe DW only offered 2 years(maybe even 1) That's why he jumped to the Leafs 3 years 18 million contract. He's in his last year look for the Leafs to try & Trade him because they got to sign Mitch Mariner

With Rantanen, Landeskog, and MacKinnon split up, they're not a one line team but if you can effectively shut those three down, what else to they have as their next best option? Colin Wilson? J.T. Compher? Alexander Kerfoot? Carl Soderberg? I'll take my chances. Barrie is a difference maker and Makar is the future but the blueline isn't much different. Can't take anything for granted in the playoffs and they need to be sharper but it seems pretty clear that this team is playing hurt and it's a group that started out on the older and slower side. Vlasic, Kane, Couture, Karlsson, Meier, are all banged up, obviously so, and those are your almost all of your horses.

I’m also talking about the contract he signed before the 2014-15 season, for 3 years with a total value of $20m. The one that kicked in the year after he scored 37 goals (I read the wrong line on my earlier post). I still stick by my assessment there were underlying signs which said that was not a good contract. I was also wrong about the age - he did sign that contract at 33. Followed that with a 38 goal campaign in teal (but half the assists) then his scoring fell off a cliff for the last two years of the contract. Source of the contract: www.capfriendly.com/players/patrick-marleauTRO

Alright, Haley has admittedly played well in this game. Drew a penalty, hustled hard for the puck to prevent an icing. Had a shot on goal (I think). Not bad.
