Cooter's goal was like one he got against Detroit as a young buck. Good shot in the arm.
On tape delay, still holding breath over here.

Well the Sharks took back home ice. They sure don't make it easy on themselves or the fans. At the very least we come home tied up 2-2, best case Colorado is playing To keep their season alive at the Tan in game 5. This was a big road Win for the Sharks, even though they didn't play their best game. Couture is a Beast.
Clean it up a bit for game 4 and I like our chances. EK65 looks like he wants to really wind it up. I didn't think a groin injury would get better without resting it, but it looks like his skating is improving game by game.
GO SHARKS!!!

It would be nice if Hertl could win a faceoff to start the PP.. He lost everyone, Hey DeBoer try someone else in the circle The someone else is tending to the head wound.
Hertl lost these but was outstanding otherwise (16/23), all other viable alternatives (39, 19) were wrong-handed and doing worse.
Wrong-handed? 48, 39, 19, are all left handed. 8 is the only righty that centers on a PP.

Ideally the groin was largely healed and it's more rust, confidence and endurance he's gaining back. I do think a few games in Vegas he had some soreness after his first games back, but otherwise if they were skating him injured I'm positive he reinjures it how he had been.

This is an enjoyable series to watch. It's great to see two hockey teams on the ice. I hate Vegas. Their "style" of play is bad for hockey.

Kane needs to step up. He is tied with 19,62,14 with six points 20 has 5 points. Kane is a minus 3 so far and has had some of the best chances. He is not playing to expectations thus far.

Also in 10 postseason games Melker has one point and is a minus three.

well so far so good. I'm always like just get a win in their barn, then see how it plays out.
now time to get greedy and ask for a win in Game 4!

He seems hungry in the postseason but he often gets nullified by the opposing teams' defense and seems to try too hard by holding onto the puck for too long and then loses it. At some point, is he worth the contract if he gets worse in the playoffs?

So far Jones is outplaying Grubauer. Who saw that coming? Gurbauer's save percentage coming in was a .948 this playoffs. In this series it is a .886 and has dropped to an overall .910. Jones is at a .920 save percentage this round and even as atrocious as he was in the first few games against Vegas his overall save percentage this playoffs is now .908.

I know there was a lot of physicality going on in the 1st round and he and Reaves really weren't getting along. But yeah, his post season sample size is small so I get that he isn't all that experienced for this time of the year. But with the amount of money he commands, he's gotta be right up there around the top on his team with scoring. Especially with so many players hurt and out. he doesn't necessarily make his line better (or any line he is on) but rather, he feeds off of good linemates. With that said, I do love his work during the regular season, for the most part.

Agree he's playing the post-season below par thus far, I also think he's not not 'himself'. Every Shak has nagging injuries to some degree at this stage, I'm guessing Kane has a hand injury from a recent fight. His legs seem ok but his puck handling seems way off IMO since his bout with Reaves. He's getting plenty of playoff SOGs but the 'finish' is missing. Hand injury can hurt your defensive abilities as well. Kane also dealt with injuries most of March from his 2/26 bout with Chara. I'm still ok with Kane's contract, but was disappointed how much he got distracted with the Reaves shenanigans in Round 1. Make no mistake, Gerard Gallant loved it when Kane was thinking about Reeves instead of hockey. Planned move if you ask me. As game intensity ratchets up, Kane has shown this spring he can be distracted from playing hockey. Over 10 NHL seasons, Kane only has 19 games of playoff experience - all with the Sharks. So in many ways he's still learning how to play the NHL's 'second season'

so last night on the FB board we learned "intentional offsides!"
talk about a load of crap! As it is an actual thing but rarely happens, yet the 3 bafoons in the announcer booth and on ice, knew exactly what it was before it happened.... COME ON!

I think one of the graphics in the game last night showed he was leading the playoffs in PM’s...is his play worth having to kill all those PP’s? His penalty minute numbers are bit inflated because he has 2 separate 10 minute misconduct penalties and a fighting major. Those alone would have him leading the league in penalty minutes. He basically has 9 minor penalties in 10 games. Still too many but not terrible. He got lucky last night that they missed one of his high sticking penalties. He was being careless with his stick and ended up getting called for it the second time he did it.

He knew the puck had come out over the line. He saw the Avs player coming at him full speed and rather than risk getting the puck poked past him for a potential break away he played the puck. Notice how Karlsson didn't complain about the call?

from Curtis Pashelka of the Mercury News,
Logan Couture scored the go-ahead goal with just over seven minutes left in regulation time and completed his first career playoff hat trick with 29.5 seconds to go to lead the Sharks to a wild 4-2 win over the Colorado Avalanche on Tuesday in Game 3 of their second-round playoff series.
Just 65 seconds after Colorado’s Matt Nieto tied the game 2-2 off a redirection in from the Sharks’ net, Couture took a pass from Gus Nyquist, skated toward the Avalanche net and beat goalie Philipp Grubauer with 7:10 left in third period. His third goal came on an empty net, as the Sharks took a 2-1 series lead with Game 4 on Thursday.
“This is what you play hockey for. This is what you play 82 games for,” Couture said. “I’ve been fortunate enough to play on some very good teams and we’ve only missed the playoffs once since I’ve been in San Jose, and these games are so much fun.”
Couture now has an NHL-leading nine goals in 10 Sharks playoff games.
