New one for the drinking thread - Skagway brewing has started bottling their spruce tip blonde. If you have a specialty beer store who is willing to work with several distributors, try and have them grab a couple bottles (I think they only bottle in 22s currently and I don’t know the availability outside their brewery).

Who has a recommendation for Tequila? I have tried Don Pillar (Thanks to our Columbus friend) I like heradura reposado. We are doing margaritas (though I love it straight as well).

I've been really enjoying 21st Amendment Brewery's (San Leandro) Blood Orange IPA this summer. Rich balanced IPA with a hint of a deep plum citrus. Fucking excellent ice cold. 7% Alch, 70 IBUs. I'm a beer traditionalist, but ok some beers can have some citrus in it, I've decided. WAY better than Ballast Point's sculpin grapefruit IPA, or Sierra Nevada's 'Side car'. Beer in July has tasted great!
Honorable mention - Fort Point Brewery's (S.F.) 'Animal'. Tropical Hop IPA. Specialty Aussie Hops used which give a hint of pineapple/mango to a beefy IPA. 7.5% Alc. All the above available at Trader Joe's in 12oz cans. All brewed local.
Drinking anything new this summer?

They used to be based in SF and contract brewed for bottling near Minneapolis. If you want something much lighter, consider their seasonal Hell or High Watermelon. It’s a wheat beer and extremely drinkable in summers with the tiniest hint of watermelon. Other interesting fruit infused not-sours I like are the year round Purple Haze (Abita brewing) and their seasonal Strawberry Harvest Lager (might be too late in the year for that one now). Though I think my favorite beer is now Split Shot by Elysian Brewing here in Seattle. It combines the greatness of a milk stout with good coffee in the brew itself. If you like a quality café au lait, drink a split shot. TRO

Going with 805 here, the main frustration is that the local BevMos and Total Wine seem not to carry Andechs.

TRO Yea, 21st Amendment moved from SOMA to San Leandro around 2015 into the old Kellogg's factory there that used to produce Pop-Tarts and Frosted Flakes. Huge facility. It's right around the corner from Drakes brewery (Triple Rock Berkeley roots) which makes for a big brew center right off Davis St exit on 880. Both really good tap rooms to visit. San Leandro taps into Hetch Hetchy water so that was probably an added attraction. Lots of brewing going on in the East Bay now. Leave it to Seattle to invent a 'coffee brew'. wow. I'm sure there's lots of great local micro brews up there now.

I’m finding all kinds of good beer down here...actually surprised me a bit. sometimes i feel shame drinking a fruit infused beer this summer, but I plan to go back 'traditional' in the fall . I have an old friend in Myrtle Beach I visited two years ago and there was great beer at the SC coast. Can't remember the names, but damn good IPAs there. What are your favorites from that region?

I’m going to try and learn the picture thing again before my trip It always tells me the file is too big (more than 1mb) and says I can’t post any file larger then that...and I don’t know how to take the picture in a specific file size. Sometimes its a curse to be so tech challenged...but more often its a blessing! I’m talking to Terry about coming out to the Bourbon Trail in the Spring. Maybe you could join us? I’m going solo this time. Are you talking “The” Oktoberfest, in Munich? I hope so because I’ve been to that and it is truly the greatest beer party ever. Back when I went, at the Spaten party tent, if you were a non-German and could drink three liters of beer in less than an hour and not throw up you get a commemorative liter mug...I still have mine...its a change jar now though as I don’t want to drink a liter in one sitting these days Heres another attempt at a photo...

Beautiful country, nice people and great beer 🍺 Thanks, we will! Yeah, I've been to Munich and Bavaria a few times. This will be my first visit to Berlin this trip. We'll be taking kind of a circular route through Germany, starting in Munich, heading towards Berlin, across the country to Cologne then back down to Bavaria and end up back in Munich.
