Dear Sharkie - Need advice. this past summer I began drinking fruit infused beer and really enjoyed deep plump favor paired with familiar beefy 8% IPA. two close drinking buddies are German purity law of 1516 abiders and insist I'm a pussy for drinking fruit in my beer - but mostly looked the other way all summer. Now we're moving into winter months and I still can't get back into a pure IPA mode, like I had promised myself. This 21st Amendment Blood Orange IPA is so accessible, yet 'Hanz/Franz' just give me shit about all the orange cans. Should I reset with a Pilsner? Pliny with a Whisky chaser? Or maybe the two old crusty German fucks are just being dicks about all this? What would you do, Sharkie? Thanks in advance! I say drink whatever you like...nothing wrong with a gal enjoying a beer Seriously, if you don’t like beer much anymore, maybe switch gears completely...this is the great age of bourbon 🥃 Have you ever heard of Four Roses or Monkey Shoulder? Yes on Four Roses, no on Monkey Shoulder. Is Monkey Shoulder a Canadian bourbon? Four Roses is one of my favorites. I went to the distillery when I was on the Kentucky Bourbon Trail a few weeks back. Nice people. My current Four Roses of choice is the Small Batch Select. |

Have you ever heard of Four Roses or Monkey Shoulder? Yes on Four Roses, no on Monkey Shoulder. Is Monkey Shoulder a Canadian bourbon? Four Roses is one of my favorites. I went to the distillery when I was on the Kentucky Bourbon Trail a few weeks back. Nice people. My current Four Roses of choice is the Small Batch Select. No it’s a blended scotch. I’ve been looking for the small batch but no luck yet. |

Bought a six pack of the Stella Artois Midnight Lager. That being said I'm not a fan of dark beer, but this was pretty good. Had a nice dark chocolate flavor and a crisp finish. I think I would probably buy this again, if I can find it.

 I know I cap on California a lot...but in the “spirit” of giving credit when due I’ll give California credit for its availability of Blanton’s bourbon. Basically can’t find it here, my local “high end” liquor store has a three month waiting list and it go’s for $200 a bottle when they get it in. I found these two lovelies at the second place I checked while visiting Cali for Christmas |

Plus, I still have some left over from my Kentucky Bourbon Trail adventure. Speaking of the bourbon trail...I just booked a trip back to conquer the Western portion (closer to Louisville) during the last week of March...can’t wait 🥃 |

I’ve covered all three “food” groups tonight...Samuel Smiths Nut Brown Ale, Woodford Reserve Rye and now a nice Limerick Lane Zin to go with the pork loin I just took off the smoker |
