Not bad considering the live hand grenade puck handling and the bs officiating. The latter isn't something that they can do anything about. Control the puck, control the game. Get Jones a triple espresso or something. That goal against was a little weak. Protect the lead, pucks out, pucks deep. A solid forecheck can grind out another goal or two. Eliminate stupidity.

The positive I see is they were able to forecheck their way into sustained pressure a few times. St. Louis is taking penalties (and if refs start calling cleaner this series really changes) and their goalie has so far looked solidly beatable. I'm not liking the lack of push back on the physical play. Meier is about the only guy hitting (his small push in the nz lead to a goal). Kane needs to get on his horse and I'd like to see even Hertl and Burns throwing their ass around. |
