Just as an aside, imagine the reaction, imagine the attention, imagine the talk, had Barbashev and Pietrangelo's hits had knocked out Auston Matthews. Imagine the aftermath of this game if that were the case. The way this organization operates, from the owner to stick boy, is part of the problem. I agree it's time to change it up, DW been here a bit to long. But knowing this franchise Hasso will give him a bonus & then DW will resign Thornton, When the Sharks need more Speed & Grit

"Lucky to get away with that one" - Mike Milbury referencing Joe Thornton tapping someone's gloves. "Not lucky get away with that one" - John96 referencing Pietrangelo and Barbashev injuring Pavelski and Hertl with clear headshots. Milbury is a freaking joke & a horrible GM

All things considered that was a good 2nd for sure. Subtract O'Reilly and Pietrangelo++ from the blues, that would make it even Take away the whole 4th line for St.Louis then the Sharks might have a chance. Their whole 4th line outplayed the Sharks top lines

Dillon just checked Heed twice in one shift. I'm not kidding Dillon has gone AHL last few games. Also, he, like many other Sharks, has this weird habit of looking like he's hitting someone but really just running into the boards to make a loud noise. It's strange. His elevator doesn't go to the top floor.. He runs around to much & ends up out of position

There we go, the blues score on their first shot of the period. This is total sharks hockey, a 14 year ongoing joke. We need a culture change. 14 year? more like 27+ years

Exactly. They have been talking about getting speed since they lost to the Pens in the finals. Toughness DW likes the team soft

I am actually sad for Joe Thornton right now. One of the best players ever to probably not win a cup. I hope he signs with some contending team and can win one somewhere else. Not me. He has to learn to play defense, Costs the Sharks game 2 with his Olay defense on the GWG scored by a 6th defenseman, After Couture had the arena rocking with 2 quick goals

14 year? more like 27+ years I mean that many years of having a team that on paper is built to win, but has only been to the Final one time. When I had my season tickets(20 years) the first year at the tank & that playoff run when they beat Detroit & almost beat the Leafs that was the best time for me because they weren't expected to do anything.

Hey Kane! You are tied for 11th in sharks postseason points at 8 (along with Vlassic) Thanks!
Now before anyone throws up he was hurt excuse (no doubt true) Paveslski had more points in far fewer games. He was big time hurt all postseason.

The hook leading up to goal 3 was also really fucking weak considering head hunting is apparently fine.. I'm fucking bitter about this one like I can't remember being in past years.

We are down two all stars and a potential all star. I'm pretty sure McPhee had the league provide him with free massage parlor visits for 3 years given his perceived jobbing. Where the fuck is platner when 3 of his star players are knocked out of a critical game.

For me the Sharks became a legitimate contender when they got EK65 in September, sadly his injury(also Pavelski & Hertl) became to much for the Sharks to overcome.
It will be interesting to watch what DW does going forward to get over the hump.

The sharks were for sure a contender. Injuries though ransacked the team before the postseason and then came Vegas.

He doesn't look at box scores, he looks at the bottom line. If that gets sideways, then he'll get involved.

Sharks got the benefit of some fortunate calls (or mistakes depending on perspective) in the first 2 series but the Blues got a free pass to hit people in the head. Two different sets of rules for these teams.

He will spend up to the salary cap max. Team is profitable so the bottom line is no concern.

Sharks got the benefit of some fortunate calls (or mistakes depending on perspective) in the first 2 series but the Blues got a free pass to hit people in the head. Two different sets of rules for these teams. What frustrates me is the early misses (putting Vegas' dirtbaggery aside) were some what tit for tat - Blown call helps us lose game 2 Blown calls put Vegas up 2-0 in game 7 Maybe slight overreach on call gives Sharks for Game 7 comeback To me - sharks lose that ref battle but we come out on top. Avs series was similar. Ultimately the offsides call was correct. Sure it's weak as fuck and somewhat against thenspirit of heavy competition, but the rules are the rules. Blues series on the other hand... Refs largely put the whistle away and let the Blues target EK65. They are also hitting generally high in games 1 and 2. Missed head shot on Braun (2) Blown call leads to Sharks win in game 2. It was a bad call but after 3 games of let go safety rules I'm not crying about it. Objective fans now see 3 series deciding moments on blown calls for the Sharks. They begin bitching the Sharks have an unfair advantage when so far it's been fairly poorly called both ways. Refs completely bury the whistle for three games. Physical play continues. Head shots continue. Mike Milbury is actively going against Thornton for a slash on the hands but meanwhile Pavs gets concussion #2, Hertl gets concussion #1. EK65 rebreaks his groin (this is not on the refs so much). The complete selling out of player safety to satisfy some fucking fans that are already pissed their team is out is what irks me. Before it was missed calls both ways. In the last 3 games of the series it was a concerted effort to make sure the Sharks don't get any calls that may impact game momentum. That is the ultimate ass fuck from this league and this is what should have Hasso irrate.

That's why he sits complacently as his team completes its annual also-ran performance. At any cost? Yeah, I don't think so. As long as the ink is black, the course will be maintained. The actions to date speak pretty clearly.
