Do you think it will decrease or increase it? Word on the street is Montreal with throw a ton at him. I guess we will see where his priorities lay. Does he take a 1-3 discount deal and stay with the sharks and have an actual chance at the Cup... Or just go for the biggest payday that one of the bottom feeders will throw at him. I would expect a big decrease. He is at significant risk now and teams have to factor that in. At least the smart Gm's will take that into account. Some Team will still pay him big money though.

I just read that Doug gave EK a ultimatum that they need an answer by the weekend. Dont know how credible it is, but sounds like Dougie wants to make some big moves depending on if he is leaving.

as in 11x8? Still fuck Dougie. Ya, or something close to that. Nothing else has worked and he showed he can make a difference. I’ld be all in if I were DW. It still might not be enough, but I would go for it.

PDB doesn't work, and DW doesn't work as well. They’re lacking that big Shiney thing. The Sharks were a dominating team this year, when everyone was healthy. Karlsson was a big part of that. I think it’s a good idea to try and keep that core together for another shot. I really don’t give a shit about the salary cap implications 7 years down the road.

Doug Jr has shown high competency in the little time he has been able to make the actual decisions on draft day. So a blow up/fire sale after a cup win would suck for a couple years but also would be built right from the ground up. Simek staying healthy is a big thing as well. (obviously a healthy Karl would have gone a long way too). Not that Simek is an elite player or anything, he just happened to have the right attributes/puzzle piece that fit the puzzle perfectly. I'd like to see Heed and Ryan retained with 2-way contracts as 7-8 D. Heed showed some good puck moving skills but he also needs to get a little bigger/stronger. There were times in the playoffs that he just got man handled. Maybe start them both on the Cuda, let them develope a little more.

Ya, I dont know what Roy has done to keep his job so long but he is good at keeping it lmao. I could see keeping him around for a mentor aspect but eventually (in the hockey world) the coaches message gets lost sooner or later and requires a change. Just the way it is. I'd like to see Ryan Clowe back in the organization in some capacity. I haven't heard much about him since he took his own leave of absence. I hope he is doing ok.

I think he's more ready to retire than anything else. it's more a process of getting talented kids heads around pro routines and intensity levels. it's a little Xs and o's but more about talent getting tested/pushed at the next level. He's a shrink and a coach, unique job.
