I think I'll have a beer and ponder the problem

Karlsson may be the bomb at getting the puck out of the zone, but the Euro flood-pants w/slippers look is god-awful. also Skeptical that’s a ‘recent’ photo.

he is a fan of sandals with socks! HEY OHHHHH! hey man sandals with the right cargo shorts are California cool! but pirate slippers with no sock and a pant cuff 4 inches above the ankle bone must be a Scandinavia thing. the California boy in me wants to throw up. and while we're at it, DWs shirt makes him look like a counter agent for Southwest Airlines. But hey, probably just an impromptu pajama dinner chat! FYI the waiter looks like a real Pro.

Either that or he still has the crutch but didn't want it in the photo. His walking was pretty effected from the video I saw of him walking at the Warriors game.

8 x 11 is insane. Do they toss an full NMC/NTC in as well? I don't think it'll be 11. Maybe 10.25. All Dougie contracts include a ironcald NMC/NTC

8 x 11 is insane. Do they toss an full NMC/NTC in as well? Do it Dougie. It’s not coming out of my pocket, and it would give the Sharks their best chance to win the big Shiney thing. I saw the Penguins win it at the Tank, and I would gladly spend the bucks to watch the Sharks have a chance to raise it here or there. I’ve spent a lot of time and money on the Sharks, and for once I would like to have a happy ending. Signing EK65 to stay here improves those odds.

8 x 11 is insane. Do they toss an full NMC/NTC in as well? Not so keen on it to begin with but when he's right he is still a huge playmaker. Obviously this season was derailed by a couple of issues but he flashed what he can be. Even in the playoffs and with the opportunity to get paid, he didn't sit out and battled through. Maybe that doesn't mean a lot to some people but he was willing to risk further damage when could've just sat out and wait for payday. That means something to a team. He was a difference maker, for good and bad, but a difference maker is better than someone who's only hope is to keep things close. Contract has to be right but I don't think one bad year in a new place while clearly dealing with a bad injury is going to translate to a lower wage for a guy of his ilk. Someone's paying him. Obviously maybe it shouldn't be DW but I'll wait to see term/money before I weight on that. After Tavares last year, I think Karlsson and his agent know where the bar is. Also I think resigning Karlsson could allow Wilson to move Vlasic. Simek-Burns worked well enough and Dillon-Karlsson seemed to find chemistry. Depending on where you slot Vlasic you're either making your third pair a non-option or putting way too much money down there. I think Vlasic could still be moved for a good return and while he rose up in the playoffs I think his overall play has dipped a little bit these last couple years but not so much that the east coasters have noticed. If I have to gamble on extending Karlsson or playing it out with Vlasic, I think I take my chances with Karlsson.

Ya, I would prefer a bridge deal, little lower wage for a 1-3 year deal. Gives both sides a good chance at a cup, then after if EK wants to get paid big bucks, theres no long term commitment/clauses that make things... messy. But on the other hand, locking him up for 8 isn't really a bad thing either. But then either Vlassic or Braun would have to move to make way for someone or cap space. Also granted on all the RFAs and UFAs that come back. Could leave money left over for an addition at the forward group. There is really no wrong answer, either you sign EK (an actual healthy EK would be sick) and hes already comfortable in the lineup, or he goes to the highest bidder, and that cash can go towards a big forward. At this point July 1 (and rest of summer) gonna be interesting.

Throwing 8X11 at Karlsson is a big risk but I think if you are Dougie it is a risk you have to take. When his groin was healthy, and he had finally settled into the lineup for that six week period of time in January the Sharks were arguably the best team in the NHL until he got hurt in the Boston game. He was never the same after that. He was playing on one leg in the playoffs and still put up 16 points in 19 games.

Big risk for sure, in fact very probable the last 5 years on this deal will SUCK for the GM and shark fans. Gifted, but built like a bird and I think his hockey body won't age well. But when he's on, 65 can single handedly change a teams dimension of offensive push. But he also ain't Superman. That's a Superman contract offer - but probably the same deal 3-4 other teams would love to offer EK65.

Completely agree with you he showed the heart of a champion.
