BREAKING After seeing 2019-2020 season starts with home and home games vs Vegas, #SJSharks have signed John Scott, Scott Parker, and Douglas Murray to 3 day contacts, beginning Oct 2. Fucking ridiculous.

NHL knows they have a budding rivalry on their hands with Vegas-SJ. Going to milk it for all its worth now.
I don't mind. Rivalries are great for fans and the game in general. I was talking to my brother the day they realigned conferences to suit the Jets and predicted that they were going to expand to 32 teams and bring back divisional playoffs. I think I may have posted that on the old board too but who knows. Either way I think that I was right.
Draft day used to really excite me but it doesn't do much when your team is spectating just as much as you are.

I dont see how they keep Pavs but I hope I am wrong. They must sign Timo as this is a higher priority long term.

With so many high profile RFAs out there all of the talk I am hearing is that nobody wants to be the first one to sign and wants to have someone else set the market value. They expect the RFA signings to drag on for a long time.

Agree, if Patty wanted to be here he would have been the past two seasons. I think he is better than Melker or Donkey but we cant afford him anymore. I guess Patty thinks this is the NBA where players can pick who & what teams they want to play for I doubt that Patty thinks this way. My guess is that he hated to leave San Jose, but someone convinced him that he should go to a big market team before his career is over. I would bet that he has regretted the move since he made it and just wishes he could have his old life back. He has a lifetime of memories and friends in San Jose. I don't blame the guy for wanting to come back.

No doubt, but he already was very wealthy, so the difference in the money probably was not the only factor, and may not have been as big a factor as it would be to someone like me who has never seen that kind of cash. But regardless, he probably has regretted that decision ever since he made it.

There was a coach who wanted him and at that point if you asked NHL fans who was in a better position to win a cup, Toronto or San Jose, most would probably have gone with Toronto. How things have changed...

II’m sure he understands the Sharks can’t pay him that much...and also that his last season is not worth his cost to the leafs or any other team. If the Sharks sign that POS Perry, I’ll be watching the Hurricanes until he’s no longer a Shark. I hate cheap shot players and won’t support a team that employees them.

How things have changed... I give PM credit for going to the heartbeat of hockey where the pressure is insane, after his career here in the new market. But, it’s easy for me to say, I don’t want him to sign with the Sharks for more than a day, and I don’t think he’s worthy of the HHOF.

Agree I'd like to see Pavs and Meier for that matter sign a two year bridge deal until after the Seattle expansion. But at that point Meier would be a big flight risk, but on the other hand, we may have to expose some really good talent and get fleeced like Minny did. Or need to save up the draft pics to give away to Seattle not to select certain players.

Good point about the Seattle expansion and its effect on current offers/signings...I hadn’t plugged that into my thoughts yet. Maybe you should be the GM

I'd take that pay raise for a year until I got fired lol. Unfortunately, I assume Seattle will get the same unfair expansion rules Vegas got. So its definitely going to interesting to see what moves will have to be made. If the sharks (I hope so) win the shiny thingy next year or two, there will probably be a roster shake up soon after anyway but I do believe the future firmly rests with Hertle and Meier, so keeping those two should be top priority from now on.

Little chatter with a Wings fan at hockey tonight. Did not like the Seider pick. Biggest surprise by far.
Some already jumping off the Yzerplan before it even gets off the ground.
