The Winnipeg Jets are listening to offers on forward Nikolaj Ehlers due to cap issues. The Jets currently have ~$25 million in available cap space but at least $15 million of that will be going to Patrik Laine and Kyle Connor and they still have to replace Tyler Myers and Jacob Trouba. This would be an interesting consideration but we surely wouldn't have space after EK65. Maybe Ehlers and Meier could get the spark they had in Jrs. It kind of all is depending on what EK65 does. Vlassic will only move if he wants to (NMC).

They have to find a way to ship out Melker Karlsson and exchange Dell for anything below $1M.

Melker and Donskoi were terrible. Pete played a borderline NHL hack with a broken leg ahead of both of them in crunch time. That is as bad as it gets.

This would be an interesting consideration but we surely wouldn't have space after EK65. They would have room if they move Vlasic as was suggested earlier by I think John96 Im not sure of that. It leaves an open hole back there that I don't think you fill for cheap. So we are again in the position of short changing the D or the O

I would guess Merkley is still 1-2 years out. Simek-Burns Pickles-Karlsson Dillon-Heed Not great but serviceable.

Bob McKenzie just tweeted that all signs point towards Karlsson signing an extension.

Same deal Doughty got. I’d say fair for both.

Give DW credit, this takes major balls to pull this deal off given health issues of late. Clearly the Sharks made a very good impression with EK65. A good day in Teal Town.

So the EK65 piece of the puzzle has been solved. Is Pavs next? If Jumbo wants to play I see him taking a pretty good pay cut.

I'm not going to lie, I'm very excited that EK65 is in Teal long term. I'm also a bit scared that Karlsson might not ever fully recover from groin surgery. If I'm DW do I take the same chance? A big FUCK YES!! Now, what do we do about Pavelski? Will Pavelski give a huge Hometown discount to stay with his beloved Sharks? I heard he could be looking for 7mill for 3 to 4 years. No thanks.

There is no reason for Pavs to cut the Sharks a discount. He had a great season and put it all on the line for the sharks in the postseason. I think he is gone. Captain Logan?

There is going to be a lot more changes now, a busy summer. I can't believe DW pulled it off.

For me with Pavelski it all comes down to the number of years he wants. I wouldn't be willing to go over 3 years for a contract extension. He is only getting slower.

His body though has been through the grinder and how much longer can he produce?
