Positive news from last night. DeBoer said of Brodzinski, who had a team-high six shots on goal in 14:30 of ice time, “My first chance to watch him. He’s got a good shot, he’s got good speed, he works hard, He’s auditioning for some pretty big roles we have open here and he’s one of a handful of guys here where tonight was the first night of that audition.” Brodzinski was kind of an NHL Stiff with LA over three seasons (6 goals over 54 games) so we know he has some eventual limitations. Joachim Blitchfeld scored a goal last night in 12 minutes, 3 SOGs. If he can transfer all that talent to NHL speed, THATS the guy who may pop for 25 shark goals this season. Merkley played a ton, so did Joe Thornton.

New bag policy at the tank. You boys are very lucky you don't have to deal with this. I am trying to figure out how this is going to work coming from the office with my laptop this season.

This is pond hockey.
Agree that Ferraro looks good. Couple of the forwards got some skill too.

Kind of pictures perfectly what the Senators are. They might be one of the best scouting/drafting/developing teams in the whole league but it falls apart entirely after that.

Part of me will miss this guy: What was the last successful guy the Sharks drafted or developed that played hard, hit frequently, fought, and was just a general pain to play against? Other teams can find guys like Wilson, Shaw, Hartman, or Lemieux. Why can’t San Jose find a guy like that? I like Prout but he’s a throwback, old school, enforcer and can’t skate well enough to have the same kind of impact.

Because they don’t want a guy like that...its not their style, so they never look.

I would like to see the Sharks finish their checks more. Laying down a clean hard hit has a huge role in this game and even more so in the postseason. I dont expect every guy to drop the gloves but every guy should be able to hit within the rules.

It creates more time and space later in the game as guys will be looking to avoid hits more than trying to make a play. Attrition. It works. Just do it.

Well at least we won't have Marleau out there gliding around and tapping opponent shin pads with this stick. I have an appitite for more hits this season, but I'd first like to see shark goaltending get to the .910 SV% mark. the physical stuff always looks better when you're winning.

Hard hitting looks good when you are losing g as well. It sends a message of never giving up and maki g nothing easy for the other team. In a series you may lose the game but be better positioned for the next game as the other team is bruised up. Burns did this quite well in the postseason. It works
