Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) is declining to participate in a Fox News town hall, a move that comes after a number of her fellow 2020 Democratic competitors have agreed to engage with the network’s audience.

“I love town halls. I’ve done more than 70 since January, and I’m glad to have a television audience be a part of them. Fox News has invited me to do a town hall, but I’m turning them down—here’s why,” she wrote Tuesday morning in a series of tweets. “Fox News is a hate-for-profit racket that gives a megaphone to racists and conspiracists—it’s designed to turn us against each other, risking life & death consequences, to provide cover for the corruption that’s rotting our government and hollowing out our middle class.”

Warren charged that the network “balances a mix of bigotry, racism, and outright lies with enough legit journalism to make the claim to advertisers that it’s a reputable news outlet.” She said that participation in a town hall on the network sends a signal that it is appropriate to still buy ads on the cable channel, which hosts a primetime lineup of overtly pro-Trump hosts who engage in bigoted and conspiratorial rhetoric—something she doesn’t want to encourage.

The Dems/DNC/MSM are funny...the latest talking point:

Investigating Russia/Trump collusion (based on an unverified document that was paid for by Rep never Trumpers/DNC/HRC) was the right thing to do, a good use of taxpayer money and patriotic. However, now that we know there was no Trump collusion, but there is actual evidence (the FBI emails alone are enough evidence) of an attempted coup by the DNC/HRC/FBI/DOJ...investigating that is unpatriotic and just political payback. I hope the voters in the middle are paying attention. 

The Mayor of NYC has some explaining to do:

An NYPD vehicle driving New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio to an event in Harlem was going the wrong way at the time of a crash that's drawn recent controversy, a new report reveals.

A newly released accident report showed that Detective Edgar Robles was traveling in the wrong direction, with the siren and lights on, when the vehicle plowed into a truck that was making a legal turn, according to the New York Daily News.
The incident took place on Aug. 22, 2015, but details have surfaced only recently. In late April, it was reported that text messages related to the incident indicated that Howard Redmond, commanding officer of the mayor’s Executive Protection Unit, wanted details kept under wraps.

“As per CO [commanding officer] no one is to know about this,” Sgt. Jerry Ioveno reportedly texted to the unit’s other members, warning against mentioning it to other teams. He repeated, “No one is to know.”

Redmond was reportedly trying to avoid bad “optics” from the crash. De Blasio has taken a strong stance on traffic incidents, recently speaking out against bikes that travel the wrong way.

The news also comes amid speculation over a possible de Blasio presidential run in 2020. He is expected to formally announce his decision later this month.

The DMV did not have any report of the accident on file, even though reports are required for incidents where damage exceeds $1,000; the NYPD’s Chevy Tahoe was kept out of operation for two weeks.

I’m not a big fan of abortion, especially when its used as a birth control method, but no exception for rape/incest seems extreme to me. I assume it will get over turned.

Las Vegas police on Tuesday released video of a woman pushing a 74-year-old man off a bus, asking witnesses to come forward and describe the alleged murder.

The man hit his head on the sidewalk about 8 feet from the door of the parked bus, the Las Vegas Review-Journal reported, and died about a month later from his injuries.

Witnesses told detectives that the woman, 25-year-old Cadesha Bishop, was yelling profanities on the Las Vegas bus in the late afternoon of March 21.
When Serge Fournier passed her in the aisle, the report reviewed by the Review-Journal said, he told her "to be nicer to the passengers." Then she pushed him off the bus with both hands, the video shows

STANFORD, Calif. — Many registered Democrats who claimed they were suffering from mental distress after Donald Trump won the 2016 presidential election may have been embellishing a bit. A new study comparing online searches to public surveys show that a significant portion of Democrats were likely over-reporting their stress or mental health issues, but doing so as a means to back their party.

“Our research suggests that for many Democrats, expressing mental distress after the election was a form of partisan cheerleading,” write researchers Masha Krupenkin, David Rothschild, Shawndra Hill and Elad Yom-Tov in their findings. “Clearly, many Democrats were, and are, upset about the Republican victory in 2016; these findings do not invalidate those feelings but put their depth and related actions into perspective.”

This so-called “reverse” cheerleading occurs when a person misreports or exaggerates a condition publicly in order to show support for their affiliated group, or in this case, their political party. The authors say that a person’s actions in private reveal their true condition, however, and for the study, that can be determined by evaluating private search terms. In other words, a person who might describe suffering psychological distress on social media or to their friends, but doesn’t search for any type of help or relief, is more likely showing a form of reverse cheerleading.

For the study, the authors looked at more than 1 million Bing searches by Democrats, Republicans, and Spanish-Speaking Latinos from before and after the election. The searches were grouped based on previously answered questions by users who’d revealed their political affiliation, and by those who searched in Spanish. In particular, the authors looked for specific mental health-related search terms: depression, anxiety, stress, suicide/suicidal, and therapy. They also sought out searches for antidepressants and anti-anxiety medications.

Researchers then compared the findings to previously reported public surveys about how voters felt after the election.

“We find that while Democrats expressed serious mental distress about the election result on surveys, on average, the Democrats in our sample did not show an increase in mental health-related searches after the election,” the authors write. “Democrats were no more likely to search for stress relief, nor mental illness, nor treatment for mental illness before or after the election. This suggests that some Democrats reported mental health declines after Trump’s election as a form of reverse cheerleading, where partisans report evaluations that are more negative than their true beliefs to reflect badly on a president of the opposing party.”

On the other hand, they did see an uptick in searches for the search terms mentioned above among Spanish-speaking Latinos, which leads them to believe that while Democrats may have been reverse cheerleading, Latinos appeared to actually be suffering from actual distress.

Interestingly, the authors point to a 2016 Gallup poll that shows Republicans seem less interested in partisan cheerleading. That poll found Democrats reported higher levels of stress after the 2016 election, but Republicans didn’t. Yet after the 2008 election of Barack Obama, Republicans similarly showed no increase in stress, despite the election of the young Democrat.

The study is published in the journal SAGE Open.

The left keep using the line “25 old white men” passed this. What in the heck does being white have to do with this? Is there something wrong with being white? Are they saying that this must be bad because white people were involved?
