And again:
Police in Virginia have identified a suspect in the double murder of a husband and wife – both military veterans – who were shot outside their home in Springfield on Wednesday morning.
Ronnie Keandre Marshall, 20, is wanted in connection to the brutal murders, the Fairfax County Police Department tweeted Thursday amid the ongoing manhunt. Police said Marshall is considered armed and dangerous.
The couple was shot in cold blood in their front yard just before 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, Fairfax County police said. "They did nothing wrong. They were tragically and horribly murdered in their neighborhood," Fairfax County police Maj. Ed O’Carroll said at an evening news conference. O’Carroll identified the victims as Edward McDaniel Jr., 55, and Brenda McDaniel, 63. Both were military physicians, he said.
Edward McDaniel was an active Army colonel, FOX 5 of Washington D.C. reported. While O’Carroll said police had yet to identify a motive for Wednesday's shooting, Davis had told reporters at the scene earlier that morning that police responded to the residence two days earlier for a potential burglary in progress. Both officials said investigators believe that the killings were related to the earlier incident.

Cynthia Nixon took to social media to complain about her local CVS' policy of locking up items such as laundry detergent.
The "Sex and the City" actress tweeted that she's disappointed the store locked up basic personal goods because of theft issues.
"The CVS on my corner has started locking up basic items like clothing detergent," she wrote.
"As so many families can’t make ends meet right now, I can’t imagine thinking that the way to solve the problem of people stealing basic necessities out of desperation is to prosecute them." Commenters reacted to her suggestion that the pharmacy chain should let people shoplift instead of locking up goods because "desperate people shouldn't be prosecuted."
"Letting people just steal stuff doesn’t solve the problem either. Which laws do we choose to follow? Do you really think society will be better off if we let people just walk into a store and steal whatever they want?" one person wrote.
"I grew up poor, and we never took anything that we hadn't paid for. It's insulting that you think the less fortunate have no ability to discern right from wrong. Also, allowing widespread theft will result in higher prices, punishing the poor and honest," another said. "You live in a neighborhood of $3 million-dollar apartments and townhouses. No one at your CVS is ‘desperate’ to steal 'basic necessities.' This isn't just moral grandstanding on your part, it's really incompetent moral grandstanding," reasoned someone else.
"Most ‘poor people’ do not steal. Criminals steal. It’s disrespectful to assume poor people need to steal," pointed out a commenter.
Nixon, 55, recently attempted to run for New York governor in 2019 but lost the Democratic nomination to two-term incumbent Andrew Cuomo.

A lot of store chains are closing in Calif for this exact reason. People stealing items and District Attorney's refusing to file charges against these theives just compounds the issue. Pretty soon we will all be living in an Amazon world where we'll have to defend our deliveries to our own homes. What a shitshow this country is turning into

A homeless man accused of attacking an Asian American woman during a broad daylight hate crime assault in New York City had been arrested at least 17 times prior, sources said Tuesday, as the Big Apple’s top cop slams the lenient treatment of repeat criminals for "putting New Yorkers at risk."
Alexander Wright, 48, was charged with assault as a hate crime, misdemeanor assault and criminal possession of a controlled substance – a synthetic form of marijuana called K2 – in connection with the Monday evening attack, a New York Police Department (NYPD) spokesperson said Tuesday.

Peter Daszak, a zoologist whose non-profit steered U.S. funding to the Wuhan Institute of Virology, thanked Dr. Anthony Fauci for pushing back on the theory that the coronavirus leaked from a lab, in an April 2020 email published as part of a FOIA request by Buzzfeed.
Daszak’s organization, the EcoHealth Alliance, funneled $3.4 million in grants from the National Institutes of Health to the WIV to study bat coronaviruses between 2014 and 2019. While politicians and scientists in the U.S. have suggested that the novel coronavirus initially leaked from the WIV before spreading across the globe, Daszak has vehemently denied the allegation.
“I just wanted to say a personal thank you on behalf of our staff and collaborators, for publicly standing up and stating that the scientific evidence supports a natural for COVID-19 from a bat-to-human spillover, not a lab release from the Wuhan Institute of Virology,” Daszak wrote to Fauci on April 18, 2020.
“From my perspective, your comments are brave, and coming from your trusted voice, will help dispel the myths being spun around the virus’s origins,” Daszak added. Fauci responded to Daszak’s email on April 19, writing “Many thanks for your kind note.”
Daszak was referring to Fauci’s comments on April 17, when a reporter asked him to address concerns that the coronavirus could have leaked from a lab.
“There was a study recently…where a group of highly qualified evolutionary virologists looked at the sequences there and the sequences in bats as they evolve,” Fauci said at the time. “The mutations that it took to get to the point where it is now is totally consistent with a jump of a species from an animal to a human.”
Fauci has continued to say it is “highly likely” that the coronavirus has a natural origin, although he said earlier in May 2021 that he was “not convinced” that coronavirus developed naturally.

Well of course Fauci is a serial dissembler but he is also correct. The jump of species was "from an animal to a human." What he left out was that the human involved was not a living Chiropteraphage (bat eater), but human fetal respiratory epithelial cells in a petri dish. But yes indeed the jump was from virus extracted from bats to human cells. The viral evolution would be indistinguishable between the two scenarios, but the latter is of course provable by sequencing isolates from each of the serial passages. Fauci and Daszak tried everything possible to prevent that investigation from beginning but of course it never will. Bat Lady, Daszak, Scripps scientists, and doubtless journalists from WaPo et al, had a bleach party where they went through all the freezers in Wuhan and tossed the vials in the bucket. Probably "bleached" a few of the surviving early new flu patients who they didn't succeed in killing immediately as well.

the DFEH addresses a question that has been top of mind for many California employers:
Can employers require their employees to be vaccinated?
The short answer is yes, so long as the employer adheres to the requirements of the Fair Employment and Housing Act (“FEHA”).

Black crimes matter!
A Minnesota felon whose Thursday death in a police-involved shooting sparked protests had a criminal history that included beating and robbing his ex-girlfriend – and may have opened fire before deputies shot and killed him in Minneapolis.
Investigators have not officially identified the man, but the Star Tribune revealed him to be Winston Boogie Smith, 32, citing friends and family.
Smith’s criminal record includes 20 convictions, mostly for minor traffic and parking violations, plus three marijuana charges – and the aggravated robbery conviction in which his ex-girlfriend was beaten until her face was swollen and bloody, court documents show.
