Supreme Court justice and liberal icon Ruth Bader Ginsburg on Tuesday praised newly-confirmed Justice Brett Kavanugh for appointing an entirely female staff. Ginsburg spoke about her own history in the fight for gender equality to a packed auditorium at Georgetown Law School.

Ginsburg praised Kavanaugh — whose controversial confirmation was marked by allegations of sexual assault — and remarked that the court's upcoming fall term will be the first time in history that more women will be clerking than men.

"There is a very important first on the Supreme Court this term and it's thanks to our new justice, Justice Kavanaugh," Ginsburg said.

So the police are now formally admitting that the mayor will not allow them to protect the public from violence:

Portland Police Association President Daryl Turner echoed the condemnation of violence on city streets, but further called on the mayor to stop allowing the clashes between anti-fascist protesters (also called Antifa) and the alt-right group Proud Boys, and to “remove the handcuffs from our officers and let them stop the violence through strong and swift enforcement action.”

A Tennessee woman is accused of assaulting a McDonald’s drive-thru cashier and using a stun gun on him after she became frustrated while waiting for her order.

Marquenta Glidwell allegedly attacked Jacob Jordan, 19, on Sunday at a McDonald’s in Brownsville, Tenn. In a cellphone video provided to WREG, the woman is seen reaching into the window and swiping at the man several times.

An arrest warrant issued by Brownsville Police Department obtained by Yahoo Lifestyle said that Jordan had “several burn marks and two small lacerations that caused bleeding to his throat and swelling to his eyes.”

WREG reported that the alleged attack happened because Glidwell and another customer were upset about waiting for their order and refused to stop blowing their car horn in the drive-thru.

"I said, 'Hey, I'm the manager, and you're disrespecting me and the customers behind you by laying on the horn,” Jordan told the Tenn. news station. “We can refuse to serve you because you're being disruptive.’”

Glidwell then got out of the car and allegedly assaulted him through the window. Reports suggest that the attack may have been influenced by the cashier’s race and sexuality.

The arrest warrant states that Glidwell called the cashier a “white supremacist” and “f*****” as she hit him.

According to WREG, Jordan said he’s gay and told the station “Honestly, I believe she was just trying to hurt me emotionally and physically.”

He added that Glidwell said the 19-year-old “deserved this” because he “voted for Trump,” which the teen disputed, saying he “wasn’t even old enough to vote when he ran.”

The woman is facing charges for “knowingly and willingly” committing aggravated assault. According to WBBJ-TV, she was taken into custody but has since released on a $10,000 bond. She will appear in court on July 30.

However, Jordan’s mother, Jessica Garland thinks that Glidwell should face more serious consequences.

"She needs to be charged with a hate crime because she hated my son for the color of his skin and his sexuality," she told WREG. "That's hate, and that's a hate crime to me."

Both Jacob Jordan and McDonald’s did not immediately respond to Yahoo Lifestyle’s request for comment.

The 8-year-old child actor who went viral for impersonating Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-NY, is no longer going to make videos due to death threats and harassment she and her family have received.

Earlier this year, Ava Martinez, known as "Mini AOC," brought joy to her fans with several videos poking fun at the socialist darling, collecting millions of views on social media.

The Left's Harassment and death threats have gone too far for our family. We have been getting calls on our personal phone numbers," Martinez's stepfather Salvatore Schachter tweeted. "For our safety and for our child's safety, we deleted all Mini AOC accounts."

A two-year-old Texas boy was fatally shot and his father and another male were wounded in what appears to be a home invasion robbery gone bad.

According to police, Ivory West Jr. (also known as TJ), his father, and his father’s friend were sitting in the garage of their townhouse near Houston when two men approached them and began shooting.

TJ’s father was shot multiple times and taken by Life Flight medical helicopter to Memorial Hermann Hospital-Texas Medical Center, where he is in critical condition.

The father’s friend was shot in the leg and is in stable condition.

Paramedics pronounced TJ dead at the scene.

“This is unacceptable,” Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez said at a Wednesday press conference. “This is our community and when you are shooting kids … this is senseless and unacceptable. I know our community joins us in saying that this has to stop and we’ve got to get these people off the street and hold them accountable.”

“They really are crossing the line when they are out there committing these crimes,” he added. “And again we are seeing way too much gun violence, especially focused on our children. There was no reason that a 2-year-old had to be dead this morning.”

So far, the motive appears to be robbery.

“The garage door was up and maybe they were just victims of opportunity,” he said. “We will determine as we go on if there were any other motive or connection to it. The main goal is to first find out who did it.”

Gonzalez said the boy’s mother was upstairs with a 2-month-old baby and heard fireworks before the shooting.

“[Fireworks] is indeed a consistent thing we heard,” he said. “Several people heard some fireworks going on prior to the shooting. We don’t know if it was a random act or maybe some type of ploy to distract people. But there were some fireworks that went off.”

Gonzalez said after the boy’s mother heard the fireworks, she went downstairs, where she was accosted by one of the suspects who placed a gun to her head and demanded money.

“It was a very brazen attack,” said Gonzalez. “They came in guns a blazing.”

The suspects are described as African American males between the ages of 25 and 35, and 5’ feet 11 inches to 6 feet tall.

Virginia authorities are not sure what prompted a 20-year-old man to allegedly stab three people at random at a plasma donation center during a Fourth of July cookout.

Jairique Shannon entered the Octapharma Plasma in Petersburg, asked to used the restroom, and then began stabbing people with a long knife, Commonwealth's Attorney Cheryl Wilson told The Associated Press.

"There's no information that he had any grudge against anyone, and at this point we don't have a motive," Wilson said.

Shannon is charged with three counts of malicious wounding and is being held at the Riverside Regional Jail.
