What we currently do. We require every year that anyone driving a car pays hundreds if not thousands of dollars for insurance and registration to a government database of who owns what cars and where those cars are, and submits to a background check every 3-5 years with either a successful background check or recertification if the background check fails. If you want to submit to the same as drivers - requiring all gun owners to pay an annual registration fee, background check every 3-5 years on their gun use history and carry insurance - just to own a gun then I would say the annual safety and range requirements would be pointless. Would it be unfair to treat both auto drivers and firearm owners differently than pilots? Ensure those people are medically capable of piloting a plane, driving a car or shooting a firearm every two years and once every two years spend one hour with a licensed instructor (and of course competently complete what the instructor asks). Oh, you also need to get a license but the first one you get is good for life and can be reinstated with the medical and hour training with the instructor. Would that improve both firearm safety and driving? TRO Not bad. What about some sort of driving competency test for seniors at some age? My sister and I removed my moms guns at 84 btw. Well, for pilots that age is 40 and every two years after that. Under 40 it looks like you just need to log flight hours (I’m not a pilot). TRO

I'll take that as a 'yes' that they are noting more than self indulgent toys for gun geeks then. No practical uses for the AR-15. America the free! So now the law according to Lord Sandals is if he feels there is no "practical use" then it should be banned solely because a fraction of a percent of the item is illegally used to commit a crime. ah, makes me recall the LOL i always felt when Pimp would angrily call me 'lord Sandal Fart'. thinking of putting that on the back of a teal jersey #7 and wearing it to games. Ha!
i'm not trying to sound dictator and recite what needs to be done - just pointing out the pure trophy thing Gunsters are trying to cling on to. i do see its totally impossible to ban. that toothpaste already out of the tube. EFFECTIVE thorough background checks on purchases would be Nice, could we trust DC Feds to execute on that? IPA is good stuff. Weeee!

Pick a side. I know where i stand. A Republican bill that would increase penalties for throwing water on cops, after a series of incidents in which members of New York’s Finest were doused by bucket-wielding mobs, is facing some initial Democratic opposition months before the bill could even be taken up. D Assembly Speaker Carl Heastie, who will decide whether the bill gets brought up for a vote, indicated his opposition to the measure this week To add more context Speaker Carl Heastie
The so called community thinks it fun for thugs to douse cops with water on the streets. Of course they do. The GOP needs to run on these types of real issues. Also play Hollywood and entertainment community madness videos at events.

Fox News contributor and "Spygate" author Dan Bongino said newly released FBI documents are "devastating" for those who initiated the Trump-Russia investigation in 2016, claiming an "information laundering operation" is being uncovered.
"There was an effort to target the Trump team with information that was factually inaccurate, that he was colluding with the Russians," he said on "Fox & Friends" Friday, alleging that Christopher Steele's dossier was a "front" so that the false information could be used to obtain a surveillance warrant.
The FBI formally documented the apparent anti-Trump bias of Steele, a British ex-spy, shortly after the November 2016 presidential election -- yet despite the red flags, continued to use his unverified dossier in multiple Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) court warrant application renewals, according to records obtained by Fox News. While much of the information confirmed by the release had previously been reported by Fox News, the FBI documents nonetheless paint a damning picture, Bongino said.
The partially redacted documents, first obtained by Judicial Watch, also revealed that top Justice Department official Bruce Ohr maintained contact with Steele for at least six months after Steele was fired by the FBI for unauthorized media contacts in November 2016. The records further confirmed that Ohr knew of Steele's anti-Trump bias before the 2016 election.
"This is just the tip of the iceberg," Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., told Fox News' "Hannity" Thursday evening. "I know personally there's a lot more out there."

They already require a background check. I would have no problem with putting a waiting period on the purchase of an AR type of weapon. Say 60 days to allow the Feds to finish a thorough background check. This would also give someone who is going over the edge a bit of a cool down period. To quote a classic Simpson's episode "You can pick up this gun in 5 days. 5 days?? But I'm mad now." The last part is the major hiccup in any fix to any problem in this country. The Federal government has shown itself to only be competent in raising taxes, always looking to take more and more control over people's lives and spending more than it takes in. Literally everything else it does it fucks things up and often makes it worse.

The former vice president’s travails appeared to continue on Thursday while on the stump at the Iowa State Fair, where he seemed to mix up his words during a speech to fairgoers.
“We choose science over fiction,” Biden said. “We choose truth over facts.”
That's what you get when your only use the party talking points, and sometimes mix them...
Things got worse for Biden. If a Republican mistakenly said a comment like this it would be absolutely over for them.

She needs protection too So she is losing it and was answering the door packing heat when Amazon rang the doorbell with a package. She was going to shoot someone. She was also leaving them out (she had many guns) and it was becoming difficult to figure out where in the house she left them. She cant competently manage things anymore. She gave up the car a couple of years ago and she did not fight over that or the guns. For protection we have someone in the home with her at all times (either my brother, me or one of my sisters). She would have been this lady: thesmokinggun.com/documents/stupid/louisiana-drone-ranger-275903

Let us all remember that this is the same group of clowns that concluded that a candidate for the supreme court was guilty even though there was more evidence he was innocent than guilty.
House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jerry Nadler said publicly for the first time on Thursday that his panel is conducting an impeachment inquiry into President Donald Trump, adding that the committee will decide by the end of the year whether to refer articles of impeachment to the House floor.
The committee has said as much in recent court filings as it seeks former special counsel Robert Mueller’s grand jury materials and testimony from his investigation’s star witnesses. But it was a rare rhetorical escalation from the New York Democrat, who has privately pushed Speaker Nancy Pelosi to support a formal inquiry of whether to remove the president from office.
“The fact is, we are doing an investigation. We are investigating the facts, investigating the evidence,” Nadler said. “We are going into court to get witnesses all with a view toward deciding and recommending to the House whether to impeach the president.”

Mass shooting and law enforcement. Seems indeed nothing needs to be done but maybe tone down the media. According to gunviolencearchive.org you are missing about 60% of the mass shooters from 2019 in that picture. They claim there have been 250 such incidents in 2019 and your image has about 100 pictures. TRO

That I don’t know but it wouldn’t surprise me TRO Maximum ages Believe it or not, the FAA requires airline pilots to retire once they reach a certain age. The rule, once called the Age 60 Rule (which required pilots to retire at 60) was extended to allow pilots to fly until 65 in 2009 under the Fair Treatment for Experienced Pilots Act.Nov 1, 2017

Okay, if gun owners have to attend a safety course once a year and 20 hours of range time...what do we do about all license drivers since more people are killed by cars than guns every year? Of course, I’m not including suicides...just accidents, criminals, etc. What we currently do. We require every year that anyone driving a car pays hundreds if not thousands of dollars for insurance and registration to a government database of who owns what cars and where those cars are, and submits to a background check every 3-5 years with either a successful background check or recertification if the background check fails. Would that improve both firearm safety and driving? TRO I’ve never heard of a background check as part of renewing a drivers license? I’m all for driving proficiency efforts, registration, etc. I agree with an age based increase in scrutiny. Not sure if we want to require that level of training for gun owners...might help a bit with accidental discharges but would make the bad folks better at doing bad stuff Also, driving is a privilege, not a right, so that needs to be balanced out somehow.

Should my rights be impacted because a small % of the population does not know how to behave? When the first assault weapons ban was implemented in the 90's under Clinton only 2% of the gun homicides were committed by assault weapons. Still to this day the number is a small percentage of overall gun deaths and mass shootings as well.
