WASHINGTON—Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg on Friday completed a three-week course of radiation for a malignant tumor on her pancreas, which was “treated definitively,” the Supreme Court said in a statement. The court said that there was “no evidence of disease elsewhere in the body,” and that Justice Ginsburg, 86 years old, “tolerated treatment well.” The justice began treatment on an outpatient basis Aug. 5, after the tumor was detected in July, the court said. The episode is the latest health scare for Justice Ginsburg, the court’s oldest member. Should've moved to New Zealand as she promised.

It really would not be a complete week without a story of the so called community killing a cop.
Teen sentenced to life for fatally running over Baltimore County officer originally appeared on abcnews.go.com
A Baltimore teenager was sentenced to life in prison for running over a police officer with a stolen Jeep and fleeing the scene.
Dawnta Harris, 17, was convicted of felony murder in the death of Baltimore County Police Department Officer Amy Caprio, who was fatally struck in May 2018 after responding to a call about a suspicious vehicle.

Take a good long look. I hope Trump uses this clip.
"Real Time" host Bill Maher minced no words Friday night regarding the news that Republican megadonor and billionaire philanthropist David Koch had died at age 79 following a long battle with cancer.
"F--- him... I'm glad he's dead," Maher said.
"And now, some funeral news to report. Yesterday David Koch of the zillionaire Koch brothers died .. of prostate cancer," Maher said during his opening monologue, sparking some applause from his mostly liberal audience.
"I guess I’m going to have to re-evaluate my low opinion of prostate cancer."
After briefly acknowledging the "harsh words" he had for Koch and predicting condemnation, Maher doubled down on his disdain for him and his brother, Charles Koch.
"He and his brother have done more than anybody to fund climate science deniers for decades. So f--- him, the Amazon is burning up, I’m glad he’s dead, and I hope the end was painful.”

You may recall several neighbors from the building that the shots were reportedly involved said they heard no shots and they have heard shots in the past so they k ow what they sound like.
LANCASTER, Calif. (KABC) -- A Los Angeles Sheriff's Department deputy who was reported shot in Lancaster this week made up the incident, authorities announced during a rare Saturday night news conference.
The deputy claimed that he was shot in the shoulder Wednesday, which triggered a massive manhunt and evacuations of an apartment complex next to the agency's Lancaster station, authorities said.
Deputy Angel Reinosa, 21, had two holes in his shirt the day he claimed to be shot by a sniper.
He was heard calling in the shooting over emergency radios.
"I have taken shots from the north of the Lancaster helipad," the deputy is heard saying over the radio. "I think I'm hit in the right shoulder."
When investigators met with Reinosa on Saturday for follow-up interviews about the incident, they saw no visible injuries on his shoulder. Officials said Reinosa confessed to cutting the holes in his shirt with a knife and that he was never shot.
"There was no sniper, no shots fired and no gunshot injury sustained to his shoulder. Completely fabricated," said Capt. Kent Wegener with the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.
Reinosa was expected to be relieved of his duty and will face criminal charges for filling a false report of an emergency, officials said.
A motive had not been determined in the ongoing investigation.
"Most of his statement was self-serving, didn't make a whole lot of sense, but he didn't get into detail as to why he cut the holes or why he fabricated this story. No motivation," Wegener said.

The so called media exposed yet again.
Washington Post opinion writer Jennifer Rubin pushed for Americans to work together to "burn down the Republican party" in the hopes of extinguishing any trace of the enthusiasm for President Trump.
Rubin appeared on MSNBC's "AM Joy" Sunday and said that not only does Trump have to lose in 2020, but there must be a purging of "survivors" who still support the commander-in-chief.
"It's not only that Trump has to lose, but that all his enablers have to lose," she said. "We have to collectively, in essence, burn down the Republican Party."
"We have to level them because if there are survivors -- if there are people who weather this storm, they will do it again."

Will the so called media ever bother to read the comment section and report both sides of any story? www.yahoo.com/news/blasio-considering-eliminating-gifted-programs-122150593.htmlNY and California are racing to the bottom. New York City mayor Bill de Blasio is current considering a proposal that would eliminate all selective schools and programs in an effort to further integrate the city’s public education system, the New York Times reported Monday. The proposal was developed by a board that de Blasio appointed to devise policies that will reduce the racial disparities between the selective schools and gifted programs, which are mostly utilized by white and Asian students, and the non-selective schools, which are mostly populated by black and Hispanic students. The New York City public education system is one of the only ones in the country that’s run entirely by the mayor’s office, rather than a board of education. As a result, de Blasio can adopt all or part of the proposal without input from the state legislature, the city council, or any other body. Gifted programs and selective schools have “become proxies for separating students who can and should have opportunities to learn together,” the panel, comprised of several dozen education experts, wrote in a report obtained by the New York Times. The panel recommends that the gifted schools be replaced with so-called magnet schools, which they believe will attract a diverse group of students interested in one particular subject area. Under their recommendation, elementary and middle schools would no longer be permitted to admit students based on test scores. The city’s seven selective high schools, which are partially controlled by the state, would be exempted. De Blasio has stressed his commitment to achieving racial parity in the city’s schools since taking office and has identified a lack of resources as the chief obstacle preventing that end. As part of his effort to court teacher’s unions and secure more resources for the city’s public schools, he’s relentlessly attacked charter schools and the emphasis on giving family’s choice that was championed by his predecessor Michael Bloomberg. While charter schools tend to produce better educational outcomes on average, de Blasio has argued they increase inequality. “I’m going to be blunt with you, I am angry about the state of public education in America,” de Blasio shouted during his opening statement at the National Education Association’s annual assembly in Houston in July. “I am angry about the privatizers. I am sick and tired of these efforts to privatize a precious thing we need — public education. I know we’re not supposed to be saying ‘hate’ — our teachers taught us not to — I hate the privatizers and I want to stop them,” he said.

Yesterday cjellika was telling me about the new software they are using in the English(!) class, 8th grade.
Amused, I asked: why do you need any software, or any technology whatsoever? All you need for teaching English is blackboard, a notebook and a textbook, and all three haven't changed much since 1919, if not 1719. Moreover, the school districts are shelling a shitload of money at the so called technologies, and the level of literacy, erudition and rhetoric goes steadily down. She herself is an decent reader and writer for a 13 y.o., ahead of most of her classmates - and you know, that school is good, - but most of the classic books I read myself at an earlier age are a tough nut for her.

The fact that the mayor's office is in control of the schools shows right there why it'll never work. That fact that this clown gets reelected just shows how stupid people are

Human garbage kills a good man.
Two California gang members were sentenced to decades in prison Monday for murdering a 19-year-old U.S. Marine in 2016, the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office announced.
Oscar Aguilar, 28, was sentenced to 100 years to life in prison, and Esau Rios, 31, was sentenced to 50 years to life in the first-degree murder of Lance Cpl. Carlos Segovia Lopez.
Segovia was shot and killed in South Los Angeles on Sept. 16, 2016. He was on leave from Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton and had visited his girlfriend earlier in the day.
Segovia approached Aguilar and Rios when he thought they were possibly trying to break into vehicles, investigators said. After receiving instructions from Rios, Aguilar went over to Segovia and shot him once in the head while he was sitting in his car, court testimony revealed. Segovia died three days later at California Hospital Medical Center.
