EK gets a pass for last night lol. Good for him. With how good he has looked I'm not worried about the D when he jumps back in the lineup. Its the offense I'm really worried about, with Kane back in the lineup I don't fore-see him putting up a hatty against Vegas to force overtime. I know the young guys need time to figure it out, but as shown by the likes of EDM... You can play your way out of the playoffs in the months of Oct-Nov.

I'am aware it was a 3-game suspension. I was talking about last nights game. The what if game of if he was in the line up last night, that's why I referenced a hatty to even the score.

EK65 with the best possible news. Now we can return to far less important things. No way was he going to miss the birth of this child.

Jones made a few fantastic saves in the second, he just didn't make enough of them. Yea, defense was less than stellar in that first game (C'mon Bogey!) but AGAIN, Sharks simply need more from the goal position than the .886 Jones posted last night. I think we should all easily agree on that. Yeah? Which one of the goals he must've stopped?
Nellie wouldn't know defense if it bent him over and shoved a goalie stick up his eager fat ass!

Has analytics gone to far? I've never seen that kind of stat before

Has analytics gone to far? I've never seen that kind of stat before In my model the numbers are similar: Vegas's shot attempts were worth 5.777 goals, so Jones saved 1.777 extra.

The Sharks were outplayed in every aspect of the game. Jones had good, and bad, points in the game. In fact, 4-1 makes it seem closer than it was.

The Sharks were flat out terrible. Coach Pete has said as much.

LOL. What a complete Bullshit made up stat. You either stop the puck or you don't. Save % is about the purest stat we have for a goalie.

Message repeats: which of the four goals were expected to be stopped, but weren't? Also, it's worth to take your time and to learn not to put your answers inside the quoted messages.

SV % can be deceiving. Remember not so long ago a certain goalie playing for the Ducks shit down the sharks in the postseason in round one? He was good but his blue line and team was better. The sharks threw up a very large number of shots but they were from distance and he could see them all. Why not measure odd man rush for vs against as part of goalie evaluation?

Please elaborate. He should/could have stopped the first goal...although it wasn't as bad as the softie he gave up to start tonights game. With a weak defense like the Sharks have, he needs to stop those types of goals...because of Burns and the D being so error prone, he’s going to give up goals he has no chance on, like the third and fourth goals.

Yeah, a PP wrister off a turnover by top-10 player in the league from the slot with a crowd in front. Sure.
Not even Hasek or Tretiak can bail this team out.
