Empty net last night trying to tie up the game and Lebanc is on the ice? I really think Pete DeBoer wants to be fired
Fuck it, Go Sharks

Even the Boston writers are wondering what's going on in San Jose
from Matt Porter of the Boston Globe,
Not all good teams have it together in October (or December, right St. Louis?), so I’m willing to give the Sharks a pass for their early-season malaise. While they might be missing offseason departures Joe Pavelski and Joonas Donskoi a bit, and the goaltending remains a major problem, there’s enough firepower and leadership on the roster to pull out of the 4-8-1 hole they sat in entering Friday. And if not, GM Doug Wilson has shown a masterful touch in retooling his roster.
Their 5-1 loss Tuesday in Boston was their fifth game in seven days, three time zones away from home, on a 1-3-1 road trip. Causeway Street was the end of the line, and no one looked particularly sharp. It happens.
But if it goes on like this, and Joe Thornton and Patrick Marleau are cooked (possible, given their ages) . . . they don’t get a save all year (by the way, shouldn’t the Coyotes listen to offers for Antti Raanta?) . . . and Erik Karlsson remains in a funk, the Tiburones could spend the second half trying to swim away from their first DNQ in five seasons.
Karlsson, the game’s highest-paid back liner ($11.5 million through 2027), was ripped in some quarters last week. TSN Radio 1050 Toronto was particularly tough on him, calling him disinterested and soft. Karlsson, among the game’s premier offensive forces for years, does not look like a two-time Norris Trophy winner at present. That’s apparent.
Not willing to question his desire, however, particularly given what one longtime team employee pointed out: Karlsson and his wife, Melinda, welcomed a daughter (Harlow Rain) five weeks premature on Oct. 3, which caused Karlsson to miss the season opener. The hockey world is aware of the Karlssons’ parenting plight after they shared publicly last season. Their first child, a boy, arrived stillborn when Karlsson was playing for the Senators in March 2018. Like any job, hockey becomes secondary when a child needs care.
more and other topics too...

Maybe Karlsson groin is still giving him troubles or it's in his head. Anyway If Doug Wilson could he would bring back a 50 year old Kelly Kisio, He will never dump Thornton. Back to tonight's game Nucks 5-Sharks 1 , Vancouver's speed & Youth(You hear that DW YOUTH) will create problems for the senior citizens... Time for some new & fresh faces from the GM chair down to the coaches & players, Watching the Sharks is like watching paint dry, Very boring & bland... The Country club lives on

The Country club lives on He's had major ankle problems. Played the 2017 playoffs on one leg and was probably the third best player in the world at the time (behind McDavid and Crosby) but it might have done irreversible damage. His skating isn't what it used to be. That elusive first step is gone. I don't know what else it could be. How else does a player fall so far so fast? I think the change of pace/style from east to west might have something to do with it but it can't be all of it. Tough to admit but DW might have signed his doom contract with EK65.

Yeah I remember his ankle troubles, If I recall it was Matt Cooke who injured EK65 when Cooke stepped down on his Ankle. The Sharks got a injured EK65 trying to play though it, and they got a brain dead bearded wonder #88 between losing the puck in their zone or firing passes down the ice. Here's a question to you, Who will win more games this season The Sharks or the Warriors?

The Country club lives on I forget which broadcast team, I think TSN when we were in Montreal, was saying him playing through the injury during the post season seems to have killed his truly amazing skating. He still has some straight line speed but the complete mental foot work seems to not be there.

I forget what it was but the media was all over Karlsson being on crutches during the 2017 playoffs but he was still a one-man show every night. That Senators team had no business going to within a goal of the SCF but Karlsson was an absolute force and willed that team on.

That Senators team had no business going to within a goal of the SCF but Karlsson was an absolute force and willed that team on. The Matt Cooke incident (a) is sort of relevant but only probably in addition to the two recent ones. Karlsson had a hairline fracture in his foot (b) during the 2017 playoffs, I think. Then it was the groin (c) with the Sharks. That actually can happen because you twist your legs a bit too much to mitigate whatever minuscule lingering damage (a) and (b) left. Recent Durant's injury only happens because he's already playing with damage and has to move unnaturally. Letting EK play in the All-Star game was a gross negligence, or, how now they like to put it, "extreme carelessness".
I am getting more and more convinced Dorion suspected Karlsson is never going to be back to full form and jumped the ship at the first opportunity. Money was involved, but maybe a 100% healthy EK would've been paid in Ottawa.

EK65 is gonna find his old form tonight, dominate the 5v5 and basically win the game on his own. Its gonna be awesome! It must be devastating for these young swedish players to get the opportunity to play against their hero and he just fucking blows
