You could put Perry, Pronger and Theo Fleury in a boat and send off to nowhere and I wouldn't lose any sleep. Maybe Belfour too. Who am I missing? Oh yeah Soupy. I’d add Steve Ott and Brad Marchand... Also Dustin Brown

Imagine paying the ticket price for this game and seeing this I’ve done that more than I care to admit. See you when the Gups can win the Shiney Thing. We may never see that happening in our life time. At least they got banners

via an Edmonton Oilers release,
Oilers Entertainment Group (OEG) announced today that Bob Nicholson will assume the new role of Chairman, Edmonton Oilers Hockey Club and that Tom Anselmi is hired as President, Business Operations and Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Edmonton Oilers Hockey Club and ICE District. These moves allow Nicholson to devote his energies to OEG’s hockey franchises and growing sports business, while the addition of Anselmi brings significant management and operational leadership to day-to-day business operations.
s Chairman, Nicholson will be the senior leader of OEG’s sports franchises, including the Edmonton Oilers, Edmonton Oil Kings and Bakersfield Condors, and will work closely with Katz Group CEO Jürgen Schreiber on expanding OEG’s global sports initiatives. Edmonton Oilers President of Hockey Operations and General Manager Ken Holland will report to Nicholson and will continue to have full autonomy over all aspects of Edmonton Oilers hockey operations. Nicholson will remain as Alternate Governor, representing the Edmonton Oilers to the National Hockey League (NHL) and will be the primary liaison to Katz Group Chairman and Oilers owner Daryl Katz.
As President, Business Operations and COO, Anselmi will report to Katz Group CEO Jürgen Schreiber and be responsible for all aspects of OEG’s day-to-day business operations. This will include OEG’s facility management, operation and programming of Rogers Place, Ford Hall and ICE District Plaza, sales and marketing, guest experience, food and beverage, human resources and finance. Anselmi brings a wealth of experience and expertise to the role and will also be responsible for the exciting opportunity to integrate Rogers Place and ICE District operations into one world-class experience for customers and fans.
“With Bob leading our hockey clubs and Tom leading our business operations we have a powerhouse combination as we continue to build an elite organization in all aspects of what we do,” said Edmonton Oilers owner Daryl Katz. “This is an exciting time for our company and the city, and we are full of optimism about the Edmonton Oilers and ICE District hitting full stride in the very near future.”
“We are excited to have Tom join OEG as our new President and COO, and for Bob to assume this important new role,” said Katz Group CEO Jürgen Schreiber. “We are poised for significant growth in our sports and entertainment business as ICE District opens here in Edmonton and we have emerging new, global opportunities in front of us. We have a seasoned, top-notch management team and staff to deliver on Daryl’s vision of OEG as a global leader in sports and entertainment.”
“It is fantastic news for OEG and the city to have an executive of Tom’s caliber coming to Edmonton,” said Oilers Chairman Bob Nicholson. “This move will help us in all aspects of our operations – both in hockey and business. It also positions us for this exciting next chapter for the Oilers, Oil Kings, Condors, Oilers Entertainment Group and ICE District.”
“I’m thrilled to be joining OEG. It’s an honour to be asked to lead the business as we embark on an exciting new era for the team and the organization,” said President, Business Operations & COO Tom Anselmi.

Well at least we get a game seven. Most of the games have been pretty good and despite the two teams involved this is my favorite sport to watch so hopefully game seven is a good one.

Throw James Neal, David Perron, Matthew Tkachuk, Alex Burrows, Tom Sestito, and Ryan Kesler in that boat too. I agree with these choices and the others that have been mentioned. How about the other side of this conversation...who are the players that played a tough, edgy game but also were talented and good sports? I always think of Jerome Iginla when I think of guys who could hit, would drop the gloves, do the tough stuff but was also very talented.

He could play the game first, tough to bounce off the puck, had a pretty good shot, would hit and of course drop the gloves. I think he dropped them too often and he suffers as a result to this day but he was not dirty and would let up when he knew he had his man beat. He could also play amazing D from the bench.....

I grew up out here in the Bay area, But growing up I my favorite team became the New York Islanders(Back then we had the Seals) in 1974. Two of the toughest players on the Isles were Bobby Nystrom & Clark Gillies. Gillies played on the line with Mike Bossy & Bryan Trottier, If anyone tried to give any dirty hits to Bossy, Gillies would be there to protect his teammate & he could score as well at 6"4 200+ pounds(Jethro his nickname was tough), Nystrom would get his nose in the dirty areas & battle also tough as nails.

Shane Doan was a true hockey player. Mike Fisher and Vinny Lecavalier were also tough dudes with skill.
Way back you had Primeau, Nolan, Tocchet, Clark, Guerin, Shanahan, Neely, and Tkachuk too but I never liked him. The 90s were the golden age of power forwards.
Mark Jansens was a good checker and also tough as nails, he had some great bouts. Very entertaining guy. Smart too, works in big finance now. Mark Tinordi was a similar guy in that regard as a defensman.
Jovanovski was a really good defensemen but he could throw down when needed. Guys like Hatcher, Stevens, and Manson were star caliber D and brought the nasty too.

I always respected Ryan Getzlaf's game. He played the game right. Even though the Ducks were a hated rival, I still liked his game.
