How was the Jumbo, Marleau and Sorenson line doing? Patty gets a goal and the line played well. I would not read too much into this one though. The Hawks are really bad. Zero O zone time until four minutes left in the game. Then they managed to score two (one via EN). Take the win sharks fans but I dont think this represents a turnaround. This. The fact they couldn't shut this team out and score 5 should say something. Positives - Simek will help the D and bring more physicality to the line up. We now have 4 blue liners that can hit. Reorganized forwards seemed a bit better. I liked the Meier-Hertl-Goodrow lineup. Hungry guys that are all smart, decent line speed and can leverage Hertl's compete. Couture-Kane is also an ok combo. Hope Labanc doesn't shit the bed therr. Sharks don't have a 4th line.

Sharks don't have a 4th line. Well both Melker and Gambrell are out. I mean. That is hardly an improvement. Maybe Gambrell and if Goodrow wasn't in the top 9 you'd have something. But as currently composed that line is effectively empty jerseys.

Patty gets a goal and the line played well. Sharks don't have a 4th line. IMO, weakest group of Shark forwards in the Joe Thornton era (15 seasons). I began realizing a different kind of season when DW signed 40 year old polite patty to 'rescue' things a month ago. Sorry but that act put a pit in my stomach and signaled the begining of a new rebuild process. For any hope of a quick flip, Hasso must eat some contracts starting with Jones.

The true sign of how bad things are with the Sharks is Marleau being in the top 6 and out performing most of the other forwards.

In recent memory they have only missed the playoffs once and that was at least a close season. This season they are shaping up to be out of the race by January.

The Sharks missed out the wildcard spot by 10 points, and it may have looked better in the standings because of the trash the Oilers and the Coyotes were that season. But the team was worse on paper than the current cadre. That was also the season of the draft when DW snubbed Pastrnak, and all contracts he signed that season are not Sharks' players anymore, and so on, and so on... That was the John Scott year, too.

I don't mind having Marleau back, It's the way Wilson went about it. 1st he tells Marleau we are going in a different direction with the kids, then the kids crap the bed & Wilson comes back to Marleau Please come back Patty... This team is flat out Old & the window is just about closed & the Sharks cupboard is bare & they don't have high picks in the near future, spent for EK65..

My speculation below: DW told Patty if he gets bought out the sharks would immediately sign him. DW broke his word here. DW tells the public he is going a different direction and that means younger players are going to get their chance. DW watches the team he put together shit the bed and then calls Patty.
