Jones sub-par in the 1st (9 shots, 3 goals) and Sharks must chase the rest of the game.
Lather, rinse, repeat - until sombody in the organization has the nutsack to start a new fkn NHL goalie. Jeez.

Yeah, blame it all on the goalie... The Sharks were fucking HORRIBLE in their own end again last night. It's almost laughable how shitty they are defensively yet the goalies eat all the shit about the team's shortcomings. Play some fucking defense and watch the goalie's numbers improve. FFS...

I wonder which of the goals LN considers to must've been saved ones...

There were times where if you did not count the players on the ice you would swear the dirty oil was on the power play. This was more than just a couple of times.

Let me remind both you soft Recliners that a hockey goal is only 6ft x 4ft. If a grown adult goalie is worth his salt, NHL level, he's got (or should have) a mindset that he can stop everything. NYI Greiss is a .938 right now. His defensemen aren't perfect. cjelli probably thinks of the defensive zone as a chess board and since Red is native to soccer first, he thinks of the net as 8 ft x 24 ft. and thus defensive/goal positioning as a soccerhead, not a hockey native where the angles are completely different on the 200x85 rink. Yes, sharks horrible defensively on so many occasions but that doesn't excuse Jones from making a great save more often. at a .885 SV%, Jones is way below NHL ave. all NHL teams make defensive gaffs on a nightly basis (Burns a little above ave, granted) so all that 'degree of difficulty' bullshit mostly evens out with goalies across the league over time. SV% probably the purest stat in hockey these days - you either stop the puck or you don't. Don't get no simpler than that, Forrest. Jones (.885) & Dell (.878) are both well BELLOW league AVERAGE and I want the fucking San Jose goalies to stop the puck more often. You should too.

You're saying that Jones isn't making any tough saves. I say he does, and he exceeds (although very slightly) the expectations given what he's exposed to. Thomas Greiss is playing for the best catenaccio in the league.
Question sharpened: which onethree of the five goals should've been saved.

English reading comprehension impeds our foreign intellectual. Stated I want Jones & Dell to both make tough saves more often. They're NHL goalies, one making $6mil/season and its not unreasonable to ask a .905 or .910 even when you consider the roster in front of them. Lately thats about one extra save a game. For specific examples, see the last post from last saturdays Detroit game which include the hghlights. Watch and learn. you should be able to understand my simple ask. And why the Fk would you defend a starter that stops at a .885 clip right now anyways? Your stubbornness paints you into a corner without logic. Red is kind of a hockey hack, one-dimensionally blames everything on defense - but you should be able to see the light. I can help advance your enjoyment of this game if you're open to it.

Because the starter has the worst possible defending in front of them. A goalie that makes $6M ($5.75M) a year is average, it's 12th largest cap hit in the NHL. That is also above the Rinne contract that was signed somewhere in the previous century and the RFA contracts of Murray and Vasilevsky.
So you have a goalie as average as they get, put an atrocious defense in front of him, and expect him to maintain the league average SVP?
