Lucky DeBoer didn't play JT in OT, With Vegas speed it would have been ugly They could've been a stoppage away from Thornton getting an OT shift. Cooter is no speed demon either. He was a stride or two away from getting caught from behind on the GWG breakaway. Leadbootski got regularly OT shifts. DeBoer doesn't seem to shy away from putting slow guys out there. 🤔 Or guys that are defensive liabilities...😝 It's not like the Sharks have an abundance of Eric Heidens on the roster...

This season Jumbo is really gassed at the end of his shifts. Maybe time to just make him a fourth line guy. I don't think he can do heavy minutes anymore.

They'd be closer to Beth in a comparison. Just not as fast...

So do we see Dell get more starts? I think yes.

Way to go, Sharks! you can't win that game without a complete team effort and Peety got it. Very entertaining game, Dell was terriffic and played like a real NHL goalie, matching and then surpassing Fleury last night. good to see San jose take some pride and refuse to let those fucks from Vegas beat them again like opening night.

So do we see Dell get more starts? I think yes. Oh hell yea. Dell starts Sat against the Islanders or Deboer is a monkeys uncle. remember those pads at the end of the bench last night weren't exactly sizzling hot.

OH FUCK
Radim Simek sustained a lower-body injury during Thursday night’s 2-1 overtime win against the Vegas Golden Knights.

The last shift he took didn't seem like anything major. He skated off the ice on his own. But who knows. Really hope we don't lose him for weeks or months. Without him and Tomas we are truly fucked.

You and me and the rest of Shark fandom probably. I've been on the guy since he came up and long leash he's been given. Don't mind young players being given a chance when they have talent to be impact players but I can't recall the last guy who made more amateur mistakes and seemingly never had any trouble for it from the coaches. Can you imagine what it'd be if he played in Toronto? Matthews scores four goals in his first game, loses his man in OT, and it's like everybody puts an asterisk in when they're talking the next day. I swear guys don't know how good it is to play hockey in California.

I swear guys don't know how good it is to play hockey in California. If you're a top 3 line forward or top 2 pair D, you generally don't get any shit in SJ. Bottom line/pair guys are the ones that get popcorn patrol duty if they screw up. Back when I was coaching I'd have parents come to me saying, "You can't sit that kid, he's our best player!" I'd say, "Watch me!" My kids were taught about accountability and doing what's right. Not just on the ice. Grades had to be kept up. I'd talk to parents about what the kids were doing at home, if they were doing the right thing or not. They learned that playing hockey was a privilege, not a right. I had kids that got their shit together at home and at school. Had a single mom come to me in tears begging me to stay when I left the program. Years later, she tracked me down to invite me to her son's graduation. When he stared playing on my team, he was failing in school and was being a punk at home. He graduated as a valedictorian. Got a scholarship for college. There's power in accountability. I believe at any level. Especially for those that are competitive. Personally, I can't stand the country club atmosphere we have in San Jose. Maybe we'd have a Cup by now if it was different, if there was true accountability here. Maybe not... Who knows...
