Easier to win when Jones only lets one in True that. Listened to Dan for two periods, then watched 3rd. I was surprisingly impressed by the home team. Great teal 3rd period & OT. Again! Jones played great this time and actually lifted his team; that '5-man-unit' stuff Deboer was preaching seem to show up. They always had a guy covering when 88 or 65 left the nest to forage, which was often. 8 wins out of last 9 games is really impressive, but I still don't know who this team is. Does Goodrow playing amongst the top six reflect player growth, or gaping holes within the forward lines?

Goodrow is possibly the ideal 3rd liner (don't know if 3rd center), and the best bang-for-the-buck PKer in the league (and in top 5 overall).

The Islanders seem to fall down easy WOW. I can't believe you said that, I guess you have played Hockey before with getting Sticks into your skates. What the Sharks need to do is QUIT REACHING FOR THE PUCK, They are taught that in Pee-Wee hockey, But again it's the Sharks

They will be getting drug tested soon from the league .. I guess you missed Brodie & Brown & their 1970's porn mustaches...

I think its a bit of both. Goody has definitely grown as a player, even last year didn't deserve to stay on the 4th line. Just the personal available didn't offer him the ability to move up. Since hes been lifted above 4th, the 4th line has been non-noteworthy almost every night. In a perfect world... the third line would be Jumbo and Sorensen/Goody on the wings. I thought that combo has been the most effected 3rd line. But the holes up top and on the 4th line have prevented that. Another stand out from last night I'd like to point out was Patty's game. Even though he didn't get on the score board, I thought he had a great game. But at his age, it wouldn't be fair to have him play top line minutes all season. Nothing would be left for the playoffs.

Good post. Agree that Marleau has been a positive force of late, over the 8 win out of 9 streak - not necessarily with points but just solid two-way play. Still skates strong, now a +2 (leads) on a -11 team which is impressive. Maybe Babcock sould have given Marleau that 3rd year afterall.. Who's tucking in Matthews & Marner at night on the road this season?

I agree about Marleau as well. His stand out games are coming less freuquently but I kind of figure if he is on his game he can plug into the top 6 for a night. I also agree Goodrow should be on line 3. I think even with the Patty band aid the biggest miss for DW was failing to get another top 6 wing in free agency. Even with Hertl back we desperately need one.

Another positive note that hopefully comes true... I read a few days ago an article that other athletes with a hernia like EK65 return 5 months after surgery, but usually don't return to normal until like the 8-9 month range. So in Feb-Mar Karl potentially could be back to pre-injury form. They also explained that the reason Karl looks slow some nights and some nights like hes getting his legs back, or some games his start is fast or the second half is fast is all stemming from the repair. If he does return to form at that time, money well invested, and that would be a welcome sight at that point in the season heading into the post. On the other hand, the story could have been fabricated and paid for by Dougie so that the fans don't kill him for the Karl extension lmao.
