So I'm much farther left than a lot of you guys and likely have some views on our police departments in general that you all wouldn't agree with. But SC PD by and large was a fucking top notch group of people. Given that they are dealing with a 25k student population, drugged out beach hippies, douche nozzle thugs from SJ, thto deal with you fucken hippie ey handled everybody pretty fairly and honestly. Didn't go out of their way for an arrest or charge but would talk to people and disperse when needed. I really wish more of the departments across the country had similar culture to the guys in SC. Some of those cops know how deal with you fucken hippies. It only took 30 years of experience before you got there Just kidding Marbles Yeah they've been dealing with it for a long time. Just goes to show you can treat citizens with some common decency while still doing the job. You don't need to be out to fuck people over.

Jesus it's hitting 110 in Manteca these days? I remember hot days in the valley but back then hot was 102 and it happened maybe 5-7 times a year. Sheesh. Yeah, we get some spikes like that. I think we hit 115 last summer. It's worse in my backyard as it's total southern exposure. Hot AF! Measured 125 in the California room last summer. That thermometer broke... Fortunately, there's a greenbelt behind my house so when the breeze kicks up, it flows freely through there. The weather has been weird AF this year. It was 100 two days ago, low 70's today...rained hard for about 5 minutes this afternoon and cleared up soon after. Last June it was pretty much hot AF for the whole month.🤷🏻♂️ Yeah. I guess with the bay area hitting 102-105 type temperatures in those waves it stands to reason the valley is getting up there. That's fucking crazy though. I always kind of thought the Valley was like a decent alternative to moving to Phoenix. At least you can still drive to the beach and back in a day. And there is some variation. I was just talking today how even with the humidity here at least there are still some storms and other cycles that change up the days and produce some ok weather every 3-7 days that you can take advantage of. The shitty thing in AZ was it was just 105+ for literally 80 days straight. And 100+ probably for 110 or so days in a row.

You didn't have to preface that with the lefty disclaimer! You're a kid that went to school at UCSC. We know!😝 Anyway, I concur on SCPD. I've had a few interactions with them. One could've been really bad. I mean REALLY bad. Some tweaking, drugged out, shaky mother fucker pulled a knife on me while I was retrieving something from my car. I kept a nunchaku in the map pocket of the passenger seat. Dude never saw it coming. Needless to say, the cops figured out that I might have had something to do with the unconscious dude they found crumped up against my car and the sticks laying on the seat in plain view. They showed up at the bonfire and asked about me by name and everybody looked at me FFS... The cops listened to me, believed the story because the math added up and didn't arrest me. They did take the sticks though. I started to bitch and the look I got said STFU while you're ahead. I STFU and went back to the bonfire. This is exactly my experience as well (in the sense that they give you the benefit of the doubt, will still be firm when needed but aren't there to fuck you over). I actually thanked a group of them I came across downtown one Halloween. The whole place is filled with drunk people having a good time and I just told them I appreciated that they were always fair for us. Guys seemed pretty cool about it. Talked for a couple moments and then told us to have a good night. That was after I'd graduated and mellowed a little.

Our police are very good here. The people say hello to them and appreciate what they do. Lots of positive posts on ND to them. Amazing how far a little politeness, both ways, will go.

Remember though, we’re still 4-6 weeks from the tough stuff I personally love the weather here, one of the reasons being what you mentioned...its always changing!

But he's also getting older so I suspect a lot of it is just compounded. We go on 3 short walks a day timed around the hottest points and he's usually breathing pretty heavily or getting a tad unstable towards the end. In Arizona it wasn't great either but normally we would do 1 walk super early in the morning and then he'd just head into the back yard for the rest of the day as needed. Scary to hear we aren't to the worst yet. Though nice to also know the spring lingers a bit here. Running in the heavy humidity is pretty brutal so I'm loving this little cool snap we just got.

I can head any direction easily for the most part to find cooler temps if need be. Was hoping to break ground on a pool this year but the brokerage account took a major hit in March. Maybe next year...🤷🏻♂️

You'll be seeing the need for a lot of transplants in about 7 & 1/2 hours or so. It'll be time to do some shopping again soon.

A lot of the hard left moving there are people from the Bay Area. i know a few of them and they all are dead set against trump and locking down the border among other things. Even parts of Texas are changing and the locals aren't happy

But yes the state is also being infected. The year I moved, both my tax guys (one here and one in Cali) told me its not how long you live in one state, which is what I thought. They said its prorated if its more than one month in either place. So, if I had lived two months in Cali and ten here, I’d owe Cali two months of taxes. I moved my move date up to avoid that...moved on Jan 29th. That was two years ago and involved a move to South Carolina, so maybe things have changed and/or theres a difference with a move to Nevada. Also, they both told me that Cali is getting really prickly about people with money leaving.

Even parts of Texas are changing and the locals aren't happy Texas will turn full blue. DNC has been playing the long game here. Agree about Texas. If not this election, then next for sure. That’s one of the reasons we didn’t even look there and focused on the Deep South. I figure we’ll at least be somewhat sane here for the rest of my days...I hope Dems have played a much smarter (and dirtier) long game nation wide. Taking over education and the media guarantees they’ll win. Republicans wanted money, dems wanted power. USA will be a socialist country in my kids lifetime.

Futures were fugly going into the open today. After the open, support line was hit hard and bounced up. At last check I was up a couple Gs on the day. I don't expect that to hold though. Things can change quickly after lunch EDT. Keep an eye on 2 o'clock EDT. If things continue green until the close, there could be some selling before the bell. Hell if I know...🤷🏻♂️
