We're back. And we feel like we're in a House Hunters HGTV reality show. There are three houses. Two are in perfect locations. Two are perfectly priced. Two are in mint condition. Neither of the three is in all of the three categories. Neither house's drawback is disqualifying. Need to decide by Wednesday. Doh. HEh-heh - OR OR

It's much simpler.
mrs. shall decide. Happy wife...
This is solid policy. So this is how you keep your marriage going? Huh, who woulda thunk

I tried that angle once. Didn't work. Cost me $300k and change. I hope you don't suffer the same fate!! I also hope she picks the right house!😝

I like the one in the middle, less windows to wash and the garage looks big enough for the cars and a boat

House 3 assuming there is garage and space! If neighbors are farther away from you then bonus!

No. I'm still about $2.5k shy of last Wednesday's EOB. If I can pull another 2.5% tomorrow then maybe I can buy you a Coors Light. Looking forward to that Coors light today. If I bought 36 packs at Total Wine I made 4115+ cans worth today. Yeah, I know...chump change!😝

House #2 looks excellent for driveway street hockey.. ready-made boards to the left! Just a thought. 😎

From a person that came from the midwest, where as a kid I had to shovel the driveway when it snowed, I would pick the house that had the shortest driveway. But that's just me.

I say number 2. Killer garage and looks like an older neighborhood so better tree growth. Number 1 looks like your neighbors can watch you in the backyard. Number 3 looks brand new and I suspect also has the neighbor issue, plus the landscaping was torch and burn.

Just out of curiosity what are the price range of these three houses? They all look to be pretty close in square footage.

Just out of curiosity what are the price range of these three houses? They all look to be pretty close in square footage. They are. First one about 4800 sq. ft. + 600 sq. ft. of basement that hasn't been finished yet, second one is 5K fully finished, third one is 3700 + completely unfinished basement of about 1500 sq. ft. The price range is wide roughly between 550 and 800K.
All three-car garages, all around 0.4 acre of land.

The location disadvantage of one of the houses is some (not really hard) highway noise, but it might be mitigated with landscaping, and a soundproof barrier may be constructed along the highway in the future. Other than that all locations are more or less equivalent.

I’d be very cautious about a place with freeway noise issues. Also, as someone who did what your doing recently...my biggest piece of advice is take your time. We looked at more than 60 houses over four months before we pulled the trigger. I’ll look you up when I come to Ohio next year. I’ll buy you a beer to congratulate you on escaping Cali

Take your time and stay away from freeway problems that may arise. IE: traffic wandering off the freeway and driving thru your neighborhood looking for a easy place to rob or steal from. That's an ongoing problem here in the East Bay Also sound advice on the beer proposition

My brother lived close the 85 when that was built through San Jose, and even with soundwalls it ruined his quiet neighborhood. Sound travels in some strange directions.

About 2000 feet away from that house.
Always ready for a beer.
